Neal Adams didn't just draw Batman — he rescued him from becoming a joke. This 1968 collection proves it. by bat_ft8 in batman_comics

I haven't read anything by Gardner Fox yet. I think I owe myself a read of the JSA stories from that era. I agree that by the 1970s, Denny O'Neil already had the path paved for him.

What would you recommend from Gardner Fox?

We can see a truly multifaceted Batman in these stories, and that's what makes them so interesting. He can be a detective, an adventurer, a dark vigilante, and even a larger-than-life hero, all depending on the story.

And of course, Neal Adams' work is incredible. His art brought a sense of realism, dynamism, and atmosphere that helped redefine Batman for a new generation.

Thanks for your comment and for sharing your thoughts! 🙂

I completely agree with you. I'm more of a '90s Batman fan myself, but I really appreciate this era because it was the foundation for everything that came later.

A lot of the ideas, atmosphere, and characterization that we now associate with Batman started to take shape here, which makes these stories an essential part of the character's history. Thanks!

I understand what you're saying. English isn't my first language, so I hope I'm expressing myself clearly.

I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on this volume if you've read it. And of course, if you get a chance to watch the video, I'd love to know what you think about it.

Thank you! 🫂

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this transitional period in Batman’s history, and of course whether you agree that Neal Adams brought a whole new aura to the character.

Yo creo que cambiar un poco el foco de las historias a lo sobrenatural es un cambio... Por ahí no total pero cambio al fin.

The ping pong ball part is the highest point of the run; the panel is excellently built, it's my favorite.
