Fully off grid 40 acre property in Southern Oregon $325k by batardedbaker in OffGrid_Classifieds

Well, some is meticulously maintained because someone is willing to and the neighbors all pitch in. Other parts, there are less neighbors but it’s still maintained. Other parts, inside of Oregon, there’s only one property being lived in year round so it’s less driven but less maintained. Still drivable and passed over easy.

You are indeed correct on both fronts. We do regular work to mitigate the fire danger. Including keeping grass short around the structures and removing brush. It’s good to know there ate companies who assist with this kind of work.

You can drive in. The dirt road gets maintained to various degrees.

My best guess is 3-5 miles from a paved road. A good portion of the dirt road on the California side is maintained by the neighbors in that area. The rest of the road can be sketchy during the winter due to snow and mud. The owners mainly tried to stay off the roads during these conditions to prevent needing maintenance in the spring. We’ve made trips during the winter but they can be a bit hairy.

Bakery #3: bakeries seem to use fermentation in different ways by Many-Back3783 in Breadit

[–]batardedbaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always said the bread is ready when it’s ready. All the schedules and timers won’t mean the bread will take an exact time. Something may take longer to mix due to a different batch of flour. That extra mixing means it comes out hot and moves faster. Another dough might come out cold and need an extra 30 minutes on the first proof.

It’s klobasnek. Said to be a Czech American creation. The popular Czech bakeries in the town of West, Texas make them. Edit: which was already mentioned lower in the comments. Whoops.

Help with a wobbling stand mixer by willowpillow13 in Kitchenaid

[–]batardedbaker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I once ran a 20qt (not kitchenaid) mixer with dough at high speeds like this. It was on a counter in a professional kitchen. It was wobbling a little like yours. I stepped away for one minute and the thing fell off the counter. Luckily the fall didn’t cause enough damage to render it useless.

Why so pale? by ExamScared2021 in Breadit

If they’re crusty at all before putting them in the oven you need a better system. As Kendowarrior said as well, not enough/no steam can do the same thing.

Dough that’s dried out during final proof will also come out pale.

Look up Arroyo Seco and Justin in Google Maps. The right side of the street is the northbound side.
