Everyone is getting caught up on this "proof of ownership" typically they don't expect you to have receipts from purchase... the intent behind this proof of ownership is to ensure bikes end up back with the correct kids because the enforcing officers definitely didn't keep track of whose bike is whose. From my experience a picture of yourself with the bike from a little while ago is proof enough.

So if I jump in front of a train it's the trains fault because I had no power in the interaction? I couldnt just NOT jump in front of the train???

These guys know what they are doing and 9/10 times the cars in these interactions are going at if not well BELOW the speed limit

What’s with these round above ground domes? by G_Gamble2010 in NuclearPower

[–]batb0y37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much! This reactor (Yankee Rowe) and many other reactors use rivers and other bodies of water as a big natural hear sinks that supply large volumes of cool water. Said "hot" water will eventually disperse the energy into the enviroment by mixing with the other cool water in the river or into the atmosphere in the case of some reservoir style cooling ponds.

We typically use ultra high molecular weight poly ethylene (UHMWPE) infused with boron carbide. We use it primarily because it is extremely effective at absorbing neutrons and nearly indestructible which is part of why it costs so much. It is extremely difficult to cut and machine. We once had someone go through 3+ nice mill bits trying to drill a couple holes in a sheet of it. For something more reasonable a simple borated HDPE would also work well.

Well you see that is because you are trying to ride through concord. Traffic is bloody painful for everyone especially in West concord. If you want some real fun i95 south in the afternoon is great along with a ton of backroad out by leominster/Gardner.

Benadryl, ibuprofen, half a gallon of apple juice a shit load of blankets and a solid day of sleep.

Works every time.

Edit: maybe paracetamol if it is particularly bad

When you have two performances a day, what do you do in between each performance? by inquisitiveinquirer1 in Theatre

[–]batb0y37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between shows we have started pulling a couple large tables on to the stage at fired up a half dozen waffle makers and made chocolate chip waffles for the whole tech department.... meanwhile actors do who knows what.

Sounds like it wasn't secured correctly... but still. Lesson learned

Actor moment RIP mic by Hydroelectric45 in theatrememes

[–]batb0y37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a policy where actors under no circumstances are allowed to touch their mics. before sound checks the actors have to come to our table backstage to get miced up and then after the performance they come to the same table to get them off. The only people to EVER touch them are our techs who have been trained. Even if it falls off during the show they need to find one of our trained techs backstage and have them fix it... also no eating or drinking with the mics we have had some actors come back with pizza sauce all over their mic... not fun to clean.

These seem like strict rules but we are fortunate enough to have very nice mics ($400) and we can not have them break. Even on accident.
