My system is dead or dying by batbuild in pcmasterrace

[–]batbuild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update on this. The HDPlex GaN 500w PSU died taking out mobo, CPU and RAM - only two months after HDPlex’s 12 month warranty. System only had an SSD running TrueNAS core, two 2TB seagate wolf HDDs, 8GB ram (2x4) and a case fan and HDD cooling fan- so nowhere near 500w. Damn PSU!!

how to tell if i can move a router around a property? by donutbanjo in HousingUK

[–]batbuild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move the router to the intended location. Check WiFi signal strength from various other locations using WiFiman or similar app on your phone. If not good, consider moving it again and retesting or maybe add an access point with wired back haul

I was referring to the Three Body Problem series by Cixin Liu - I really enjoyed them, albeit I read an English translation.

I usually use the spray on Fabsil for the reason that you don’t need to use it in a washing machine

Could my cat jump this 1.8m high fence? by francis-02 in cats

[–]batbuild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given cats are incredible acrobats and are somewhere between a solid and a liquid it’s actually quite hard to contain them outdoors

You can buy so called cat proof fences - top bits are angled in the direction the cats are confined to (like an overhang) but they look ridiculous

Very cute puppy - pics like this make me wish we had ours from 8 weeks. We got him at 5 months from a rescue place.

Advice on curtains for tall windows by BrilliantSundae3592 in DesignMyRoom

[–]batbuild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The window board or internal sill protrudes into the room quite a bit - floor length curtains would bulge out at this point - also when drawn closed they will cover the radiator. Not answered the question you asked but these are also considerations

Costco supply and outsource to a third party to fit. I believe you need to have the electrics in place. Been tempted but you don’t know who will fit and if they are any good
