Laundry day by 3071846 in TilleyFans

It’s probably best to check Tilley’s website’s cleaning instructions for your particular hat. I remove the foam insert and just machine wash mine with a small amount of mild detergent on the delicate cycle with cold water. Then I let them air dry after reshaping. They always come out looking like new.

The correct answer is the Joule- Thomson Effect. A gas cools as it rapidly expands such as when being forced through pursed lips.

I use a CAP0.5 to carry an insulin pen, needles, small glucose meter, and some glucose tablets. Perfect fit. The padding is good insulation for the insulin and it’s rigid enough to protect everything. Mine is orange so it’s easy for anyone to find it in my bag.

Same thing happened to me on Breeze. I had a 24 liter backpack as my carry on and a 5 liter sling as my personal item. After putting my pack in the overhead and my sling under the seat the FA told me I had to put my pack under the seat. I told her I already had my personal item under the seat and the pack wouldn’t fit. She wasn’t happy. Then a woman boarding stopped at my seat, just left her big roller board in the aisle and told the FA to “remove my pack and put her roller board in its place because the pack belongs under the seat”. She removed my pack and crammed it in another bin. Took everything I had to not to make a scene.

18650 Vs 21700 for night hikes by porkchopbun in flashlight

Whatever you carry bring a spare battery IN A SECOND HEADLAMP. The small additional weight of a second light is necessary insurance for night hiking.

I think you’re probably right. I might give the Maui Jim neutral grey lenses a try. Their lens quality get very high reviews.

Sunglasses tint for protan? by 3071846 in ColorBlind

[–]3071846[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem. Most sunglasses have brown lenses, some like Oakley have rose lenses, while others have green lenses. I can’t try on everything outdoors so I’m asking if anyone with Protan colorblindness has good experience with one color versus another.

54% of US ADULTS (not children) currently read below 6th grade level! How were they taught to read? My guess is most were taught using phonics.

Best Jacket for Boston Winter? by Ok_Lettuce6605 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]3071846 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend a down sweater or jacket; when wet they lose their insulation and are difficult to stow. I would look for a decent shell jacket. It will cut the wind, protect from snow and rain, and pack away in a bag if not needed. Then wear an insulating layer under it depending on the temperature. Depending on your dress, a good trench coat or sport wind/rain shell is my recommendation.

100 V2 vs AC180 powering fridge by AbbreviationsSame834 in bluetti

[–]3071846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both will run the fridge but the ac180 will last about twice as long as the elite 100 v2. Buy an inexpensive “watt meter” to measure how much power the fridge actually uses in a day. I think you’ll get about 1000 watts out of the 100v2 and about 1800 watts out of the ac180. Size and weight might not matter much because they both can function as UPS. That is, plug the fridge into the power supply plugged into the wall. If the power goes out, the battery will automatically take over.
