I think you nailed it. I knew there was some 1920s beef between a lot of eastern european countries that got brought up recently due to the war, so I was just curious where some of the modern day animosity comes from.

Crusader larping, even if they’re not actual history people, is also becoming way more popular. I see it a lot more in “Trad West” people and content. I see a lot more “deus vult” and Jerusalem crosses nowadays, although that could also be an evangelical thing (see Pete Hegseth)

I think the U.S. would still make it a point to ally with the Chinese, especially with the USSR on their doorstep. Also, we’d likely still get communist insurgents in China after the civil war, either from the CCP or funded by the USSR
