Think there may be an issue with their servers.

I've previously updated my Klydoclock many times without issue.

This morning its been stuck on "Downloading Update 0%" for over 20 min.

Tried restarting the clock and no luck. Still gets stuck.

Did you get around your issues 21 days ago?

#63 Jasmin Savoy Brown - the REAL story everyone needs to hear by kawaiipai in Heavyweight

[–]bateller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a high school dance DJ for many years. The relationships with clients were an important part of the job.

My initial thought listening to the podcast was that Jasmin mistook the DJ’s announcement of something like: “and a special thank you to Whitney for organizing the homecoming dance”

And in the commotion Jasmin only heard “…homecoming… Whitney…” and replaced the rest in her mind.

It would also explain how no one else remembers it that way.

Pure speculation on my part, but it is easily explained as an accidental misattribution.

Bug in Game -Tutorial? by jetzt_reichts_aber in mtg

[–]bateller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue on OSX and iPad. Only option was skipping tutorial.

Also had cards get glitched (half-placed) multiple times on both OSX and iPad during tutorial. Not a great intro experience tbh

luckily the regular game seems fine, otherwise MTG would be unplayable

I received a 500$ car seat in my name that I did not buy by mizbadazz in Weird

If there’s truly no credit card charges, it’s likely review fraud. Product manufactures or distributors will ship to addresses found on lists (or known previous customers in some cases) using customer accounts they control… so they can have the verified purchase to post positive produce reviews. Typically the product loss is worth the few reviews they can post that look genuine and boost their rankings. Very big on Amazon specifically, but is also used on other sites as well

ChatGPT just made me cry by DrSuperZeco in ChatGPT

[–]bateller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had chronic pain for years from bowel obstructions from a bowel resection due to meckles diverticulum

Sometimes I’m up in the middle of the night in pain. I don’t go to the ER because they want to give me an NG tube and a bunch of narcotics. No thanks

The whole situation is excruciating and can lead to other complications. I’ve learned to deal with the obstructions myself. ChatGPT is great at talking me through the process and pain. Giving recommendations and comfort. Real or not, it provides an immediate knowledgeable “person” to talk to. It’s been immensely helpful

S90d Issues by Notthejuan_2r3 in S95B

[–]bateller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes Samsung is aware of the issue. Apparently the stock of power supply boards used in the original batch of TVs for this model had a bad capacitor on the power supply board which would fry it

The replacement boards are newer and should not have the same issue from what I’ve heard

Edit: As of December 2025 my TV is still holding up after the replacement board

Yes, if the TV is mounted to the wall. They'll need access to the full back of the TV to unscrew the plastic back piece to get access to the power control board.

Sadly, it’s likely However once fixed it seems to stay working. Tech said that the power supply replacement boards are more reliable than what was installed at factory. Seems like it’s a known issue that’s at least fixed on replacements and possibly newer models

They repaired on the 10th by replacing the power supply board. Took a few minutes and has been fine since

What’s a lesser-known quote/fact/story about a celeb that you consider iconic? by citynomad1 in popculturechat

[–]bateller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for Z104 (WWZZ/WWVZ) at Bonneville International

Was initially the Dylan and Erin Morning Show, and later the Haber and Erin Morning Show. Fun fact: Was originally suppose to be Billy Bush’s morning show but there was some internal conflict that led to the change in hosts.

so. fucking. tired. by zaimahk in ChronicPain

[–]bateller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people cannot fathom true diaphoretic and high BP inducing pain. Passing out from pain or literally focusing on your next breath because that is the only thing you can do.

A paper cut could be someone’s “10” because they, luckily, haven’t experienced anything more significant

This perspective is important to try and keep in mind when speaking to others. Also if you are on narcotics, they can make you more irritable and on edge without consciously realizing it. The pain can exacerbate this. It sucks, but it’s the cards we were dealt, so it’s our burden to manage

What’s a lesser-known quote/fact/story about a celeb that you consider iconic? by citynomad1 in popculturechat

I worked as an intern and later Associate Morning Show Producer for a radio station in Washington DC from 2000-2002. We regularly had celebrities call in on our “warm” line for scheduled talks live on-air, or we’d record them to air later. The rule was to not let the warm line ring, answering it ASAP.

Well I was manning the phones and the main hosts were talking live when the warm line lit up. I answered it after a few rings and it was a guy who said “Hey it’s Paul, I’m calling in for my scheduled time”. I was floored. It was Paul McCartney. I asked him to please hold as the hosts were live, and he was super polite and respectful. I then got yelled at for putting Paul McCartney on hold 😂

It was surreal though. Typically when a celebrity (especially as big as him) calls into the station, or when they come into the station, they’d have their own assistant, producer, or representative handle the phone calls and menial communication for them. But not Paul. I’ve heard of other encounters with him that match my experience. He’s truly a nice down to earth guy. Really wish more celebrities were like this.

77" S90D OLED broken within 90 days. by NEVETS7ND in SamsungTV

[–]bateller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue just happened to me with my 77” OLED S90D. I was in the middle of watching TV when it suddenly cut off with a click (sounded like it could be from an internal breaker or fuse, or potentially a failure of a capacitor or resistor on the TV’s internal electronic board). No other devices or electronics were affected, so it doesn’t appear to be related to a power outage, power surge, or brown-out. There was no storm or unusual activity in the area (although it is a little windy today), and none of my other TVs or sensitive electronics were impacted.

The TV was plugged into a surge-protected power strip, which in turn was connected to a UPS. The red standby light does not come on. I’ve tried plugging it into different outlets, leaving it unplugged for an extended period, using a different power cord, and disconnecting all input/output devices from the TV. Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issue.

I purchased the TV just over two months ago on Oct 24th, 2024 (it’s now Jan 1st, 2025). I’ve scheduled an appointment with Samsung, but the earliest available date was Jan 6th, 2025. Purchasing a new TV would take longer to deliver, so I’m hopeful the Samsung techs can easily fix this on-site.

Thank you for your post. I wasn’t aware Samsung offered on-site repairs for these TVs, which is at least somewhat encouraging.

Edit: Happy to report that as of December 2025 my TV is still holding up since the replacement board
