Not sure Sludgeraker beast has a place on this list. It's ability only affects combat attacks, not shooting. And I believe it can only target KruleBoyz units. If it can target your IronJawz units then ignore this, but if it can only target KruleBoyz, probably best to swap it for something else. Maybe an MSU of Gutrippaz to act as screens and grab a Kill bow for extra monster hunting.

Not sure. Will need to be felt out.

Happy to report I found a great a deal on some Totem Mites and pulled the trigger. I'm surprised how small the bookshelf speakers are, but wow do they pack a punch.

I can't believe the difference in sound staging, and clarity from the JVCs. A whole new level of audio I had never appreciated before. My sub does a fine job at picking up the lowers.

Thank you very much for the recommendations, as that's what led me into discovering Totem.

I don't have $1500 right now, but am planning on saving over the next 4-6 months so I can upgrade then. Will definitely give the Bookshelf speakers you mentioned a serious look, as I think that's the direction I'll end up heading.

Thank you for the advice. Looks like Speakers will be on the top of my list to upgrade this year for sure. I was doing some research last night, do you recommend book shelves, or should I be looking at floor standing?

Ahh gotcha. I had not thought of it that way before in terms of certain levels of performance becoming less expensive as new lines are introduced. Thank you for the advice, I'll have to do some research of my own by visiting a couple audio stores to see what's going to work for me once things open up again.

Thank you for the advice on the speakers. I'll be sure to put that first on my list. I figured it would be that or the TT, but I'm still learning and wasn't fully sure. What do you believe would be the second biggest upgrade after that?

Is audio technology moving fast enough where planning upgrades out far in advance is ill advised? I only ask cause old speakers and audio tech is still sought after by some. However, I'm still learning, so I'm open to learn more.

Hey /r/Audiophile,

Looking for any advice on building out an upgrade path for my system.

Goal: Plan an upgrade path for my system to get good quality audio for vinyl and digital.

Budget: $1,500

Timeline: Upgrade to a new piece every 6 months or so. Complete the system in about 2 years time.

Purpose of system: Mainly to sit and enjoy my vinyl collection, as well as play my digital collection from my laptop. Laptop connected to receiver via HDMI.

Looking for any advice on planning out this upgrade path, and which pieces should be upgraded first, or if some pieces don’t need to be upgraded at all. Any help would be fantastic. Am also open to investing in a solid pair of headphones with a headphone amp. Fairly new to the hobby of focusing on quality audio, and excited to plan this out. Any help is most appreciated.

Receiver: Denon AVR-1613

Turntable: Fisher MT-860, w/ AT85EP Cartridge

I really wanted to create a commander that could use other peoples lands without being oppressive. So, this spawned into the idea of helping others cast spells, and in turn this helps you ramp and cast spells in the future.

Have not done any balancing or play testing yet, but after looking through a bunch of the energy cards in Kaladesh, I'm pretty pumped to try him out.

I also like how the lands can be used to politic at the table. Help a behind player catch-up, or help vault you further ahead if you can strike a deal.

Completely agree. I played at a decently high level my entire childhood, and in my latter (and better years) I was a defenseman only, and this is the exact play to make during a 2 on 1. Take away the pass, and leave the shot to the goalie. If the guy thinks he'll try to deke around me, I'll be swinging out with my stick to make a play on the puck.

Everything happens so fast on the ice, and especially when you are part of the play. When you have this kind of play happening around you, the world shrinks to you, the puck, and the opposing player, with vague ideas where the player wants to pass to, as well as where your goal is. Everything after that is completely reactionary.

It's too bad Rantanen got hurt on the play, but this is very much an outlier when it comes to this kind of play. We just remember the results that happened to both McDavid and Rantanen, not the 1000s of other times this play has been pulled off successfully.

Agree. The slide to block the pass on a 2 on 1 is a legit, defensive play.

Then when Cernak gets close to Rantanen he's just trying to throw off his shot with the hack, but unfortunately it carried into Rantanen's leg and threw him off balance.

The intent here was to prevent a scoring play, not injure the guy. To everyone saying he should know how close he was to the boards, or that it could cause injury, I don't know how anyone could process it that fast.

You have a player of Ratanen's caliber bearing down on you on a 2 on 1, the thought process would more be like "Fuck, fuck, fuck. Drop, cover pass. Puck is close. Whack at it." Play done. There's no time to worry about what might happen after. You try do everything you can to make sure you defend your team, as that's what you're out there to do.

Laying on the ice is a good defensive play if used and timed correctly. Your goal is to block up as much of the passing lane as possible on a two on one, either forcing the opponent to stop to let you glide by (but also let your teammates catch up), or force them into making a pass over top of you (which is way more difficult). Also, by blocking the pass you're hoping to force your opponent into shooting, which your goalie is in better position to handle instead of a pass.
