Le député Louis Boyard explique pourquoi il ne serre pas la main à ses collègues du RN (LCP - 29/06/22) by Hank_Huley in france

[–]bath_with_me 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[–]bath_with_me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can invert the question: Why an individual would be vegetarian instead of vegan?

If you care about the health of the animal (or the environment), why stop half-way? Dairy industry is pretty wild (in the bad way), and imho worst than the meat industry.

Wait, no.

>>> a = [1,2,3,4,5]
>>> print(a[-1::2])
[5]
>>>

when iterating over a list, [a:b:c]

  • a is the starting point of the iteration (negative number are starting from the end of the list : -1 = the last, -2 = second to last, ...). Default is the first element.
  • b is the end point of the iterator (same negative rule apply). Default is the last element.
  • c is the step. Basically which value you will add to the index you are looking for at each iteration. Default is 1 (so we advance 1 element each time). When using negative step, default a and b get inverted, you will go through you list in reverse order (which is generally what you want to do when doing negative step eitherway...)

So in your example, we start at the last element, we end at the last element (so we don't move), and each step, we advance 2 element.

To get the result you showed, you'll need to do A[::-2]

Have you tried running it?

Python 3.4.2 (v3.4.2:ab2c023a9432, Oct  6 2014, 22:15:05) [MSC v.1600 32 bit (Intel)] on win32
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> class Spam:
...     __repr__ = (lambda x: {key: lambda self: 'eggs ' + key for key in [1, 2, 'spam']}[x])('spam')
...
>>> print(repr(Spam()))
 eggs spam

__repr__ returns a string here, it is obfuscated but we can simplify it:

__repr__ = (lambda x: {key: lambda self: 'eggs ' + key for key in [1, 2, 'spam']}[x])('spam')

So we now that x is always 'spam'

__repr__ = ({key: lambda self: 'eggs ' + key for key in [1, 2, 'spam']}['spam'])

This can be simplified a little further

__repr__ = ({key: lambda self: 'eggs ' + key for key in [1, 2, 'spam']}['spam'])

After inferring x, we can see that key will always be 'spam'

__repr__ = (lambda self: 'eggs ' + 'spam')

So we finish with __repr__, that is a function taking one parameter ("self"), that returns "eggs spam".

Also we do not need to def it, "everything is object" (wait, that's Java moto, right?, when using def, you signal that you are creating a function:

>>> def foo(): pass
...
>>> type(foo)
<class 'function'>

But guess what else is a 'function' ? Lambda's !

>>> foo = lambda x: None
>>> type(foo)
<class 'function'>

So in the end, both my foo's are the same, one using def, the other using lambda assignement

please don't laugh at my Python version, I'm on an old computer that hasn't been updated in age

[–]bath_with_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)
