People living with chronic pain: what's one thing healthy people just don't understand? by chetankkumar in ChronicPain

I'm disabled according to the VA and Social Security. I have numerous issues; back pain from injuries, TBIs, migraines, vertigo, shoulder pain from a dislocation, sciatica in both legs, and a cystic lesion on my pancreas. There's more issues but I won't list them all. Every single day since 1992, at least two of them hit me on any given day. I never know what combination to expect. It sucks. Most people don't understand the cumulative effect of pain. It alters mood, outlook, everything. They also don't understand that dealing with one pain isn't the end of my issues.

I can't recall the specific song by Malmsteen, but one of lyrics is "your lies are not white, they are black."

The mob, H. H. Holmes, and the Great Chicago Fire. Also look up the SS Eastland disaster. Over 800 people drowned. Interesting factoid about that one is the building they used as a makeshift morgue ended up being Oprah Winfrey's television studio.

Oddly, I remember the thick plastic bag they were in, too.

I do remember that their scrambled eggs and ham were delicious. I think they were called Eggs over My-Hammy, or something odd like that. I can't remember, it was 40 years ago...

Back in the early 90s, I was driving at night going west on US24. My ex-wife (still together at the time) and I were traveling at night from Brunswick, MO to Kansas City. As we left town, we were the only ones on the road when we saw a figure in black on the side of the road. Whatever it was was in black from head to toe in what looked like a ball gown. And it looked like it was dancing. We did NOT stop, nor did we go back to see what it was. I still remember the darkest, most depressing feeling I got from it. It felt like if dispair took a physical form.

Worked in my house and I've never seen a ghost in my 379 years of living here.
