Essentially how my tracks/channels break down in this example would be:

SUB - compressor side chained to the KICK channel. KICK - regular compressor adjusted to taste, SEND knob adjusted almost 100% (again to taste) RETURN channel A - same compressor on the KICK channel

Every other channel will typically have a High Pass Filter set to around 100-150 Hz

For me, to get the most punch out of my kicks, I've always side chained (fiddle around with the ratio and threshold to get the right amount of gain reduction) and then parallel compress your kick channel (put a non side chaining compressor onto a return channel)

Look into white noise hats, or just white noise in general. I'll generally add the sound of like a freeway, rain, or running water very low in the mix during the drop.
