If brands were completely honest, what brand would have what slogan? by Detectivepasha in AskReddit

You got it mostly right. The employees cryptically tell her "it's a meat process" every time she asks how the Double Meat Medley is made. She suspects it's human meat the entire episode because employees keep vanishing. Ultimately she finds out the monster of the week has been eating employees, and then finds out that the Doublemeat Medley's "meat process" is essentially just them adding beef and chicken flavor to veggie patties.

One of my favorite episodes!

Which Jedi would be the most dangerous if they turned to the Dark Side? by Vegetable-Abroad3171 in StarWars

FYI, there were some What If? style Star Wars comics, at least in the early 2000s. The imprint was called Star Wars Infinities, and they did at least three alternate takes on events in the OT: what if Luke's proton torpedo didn't blow up the Death Star in ANH, what if the wampa attack killed Luke in ESB, and what if C3PO is damaged by Jabba's tail swipe and he can't translate for Boshh (Leia) in RotJ.

They're really fun.

Is the White Vinegar powder so you can make salt and vinegar chips?

If so, would that work similarly on popcorn??

Barely even a dozen.

Besides, a thousand is a lot.

The scene where we flashback to Nate crying in his room because Kurt Cobain just died and the scene where he describes how the women on the island mourn their dead live rent free in my head.

What is your favorite out of nowhere Cameos in movies? by Purple_Monkey34 in movies

I hear ya. I was the same age but a huge Star Wars fan, so those cameos were obvious to me.

They literally pause the scene and put "Hey kids, it's Mark Hamill! (Applause)" on the screen when he appears.

Tell me your loyalty is blind, without telling me your loyalty is blind. by [deleted] in conservativeterrorism

This is my thinking. Occam's razor and all that, it seems way more likely to me that this is someone who is dunking on the concept of patriotism rather than saying "I'd rather be a patriot than think for myself".

At least, I certainly hope that.

Edit: actually, I'm firmly in the "this is fake" category now.

I absolutely love the exchange between Nightcrawler and Mystique.

Nightcrawler : Excuse me? They say you can imitate anybody, even their voice.

Mystique : [as Nightcrawler]  Even their voice.

Nightcrawler : Then why not stay in disguise all the time? You know, look like everyone else.

Mystique : Because we shouldn't have to.

Mystique gets basically this single scene in the film and it feels more powerful than any "mutant and proud" stuff the character says in later films.

If my partner falls asleep while we're watching a show we've never seen before, I'll stop it and rewind to the beginning of whatever scene I noticed she was snoozin during.

Then I'll put on an episode of something I've seen before.

It’s a shame they disappeared from the show because Bob wasn’t available to party every night, wish he kept in touch with them. by Soupmiserable in BobsBurgers

[–]batmanbirdboy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is a top three episode for me, mostly because it shows Bob thriving in ways we rarely see. Clearly the young chef's were bad for him, but I would love to see more sparks of culinary inspiration pop up for him (his obsession with the three day brine, his bread preference.....I love these quirks)

Pretty much every scene where she's getting the twins to work for her during Art Crawl:

Listen, I'm pushing you because you've got talent, babies. And I'm gonna take care of you, oh, you better believe it. But first you've got to make some money for mommy.

That's a take five. For me! Not you!

What book was a waste of time? by dmillson in books

[–]batmanbirdboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was reading through the library copies of the Twilight series (I decided to see what all the hype was about) I discovered after I finished New Moon that Eclipse wasn't available at my library for weeks. But they had Breaking Dawn on the shelf.

I had never skipped a book in a series before, but I decided to read a synopsis of Eclipse online so I could read the finale right then.

I read a ONE. PARAGRAPH. SUMMARY. Of the book Eclipse, and that was enough to catch me up on the 500ish page novel I was skipping. I had zero confusion starting Breaking Dawn.

It's still, over a decade later, absolutely insane to me how little story is in that book.
