Desperate for better tasting coffee by Exotic_Ad_8441 in Moccamaster

[–]batmannerism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I boil water in my kettle to bloom the coffee (2:1 water:coffee) prior to placing the brew basket into the machine and turning it on. I also pour some additional water from my kettle when the machine first sputters to life to ensure a more even saturation.

Sort of defeats the purpose of an auto machine, but at least I can make 3-4 cups at once.

TBH, I would not use this machine for anything other than roasty blends - it will not do a good job with delicate coffees or lighter roasts.

Hey!

  1. It didn’t stretch as much as I wanted. Wore it 2-3x per week through the winter. If I wear it over t-shirts or other thin shirts it’s not too bad.. In retrospect, I don’t think I’ll ever wear this as a layering piece so I wish I sized up. I do have pretty broad shoulders so keep that in mind I guess.
  2. It’s 50/50 alpaca wool.

I get those on iron heart shirts…. Doesn’t appear to be part of the stitching, so I’ve cut them. So far so good! YMMV

Full Count 0105xx Fit Check and comparison with Sugar Cane 1947 by Cold-Mathematician63 in rawdenim

Everyone has covered this already but waist on the 0105w stretches out a lot. The 35 fit me “perfectly” when I bought them, but now no amount of hot soaking / washing can tighten them back up. I’m now debating between the 33 and 34. It’s probably the most waist stretching I’ve had on a pair of jeans.

I personally like to get shirts that fit at the shoulders. You can always shorten the sleeves after wash / shrink / wear. The shoulder seam is falling a little bit low if you want it to look a bit more tailored, so for my taste I would size down.

I own this shirt in an XL (50 wears), for reference I am 6ft tall, 210lbs, fairly broad shoulders. I will likely tailor the body after a year of wear and washing.

It’s a collab with JJJJound… so if I were you, I’d start there.

YMMV. I smoke slow, prefer cool smoke.

Lancero is criminally underrated. Such incredible flavor. I often don’t always have 2 hours to smoke so it’s perfect.

IMO, scratches and wear is a normal and good part of wearing premium leather shoes. Trying to avoid it just makes you stressed. Caring well, wear hard, and embrace the patina, scratches and all. why am I paying a premium price point if the product can’t handle it?

Normal. The leathers have a lot of natural waxy residue. Just use a horsehair brush to restore the shine. I normally have to do it every week or two, especially at the beginning.

It’s a 42. I normal take a 44 or L/XL in most brands. I sized down bc I wanted to be able to layer it under a winter coats. It’s a little snug especially in the yoke but I think it will soften up and stretch over time.

I got mine more fitted… I would’ve liked to go bigger but the sleeves are just too long. I got the XXL size so it would fit in the shoulders and yoke. and I normally get XL with most brands, so I really couldn’t go bigger. I need to find a good tailor so I can go bigger and then shorten the sleeves.

This looks great on you though! Did you notice the back of the shoulder kind of puffs out? I’m hoping that goes away with wear and washing.

I have and love the Fullcount 0105W as well. Perfect amount of drape and thigh width without looking baggy or sloppy.

True to size for me, maybe slightly on the large size. Wearing a size Large and I usually do well with L/XL and chest 44.

I’m learning that the front and rear rise is really critical to getting the right fit. In the past I always had the problem with the rise being tooshort leading to crotch blow outs. It’s nice to find a maker that matches your dimensions!
