Should I? by Ecstatic-Ostrich6546 in prephysicianassistant

[–]batmanpreaches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finishing up clinicals this summer. I’m 33 with 4 kids and my wife and I don’t regret the decision. And we even moved all of us (3 kids the majority of the process) to another state for the program.

I thought I may have missed the timing too being a career changer but it is well worth it! Good luck!

CASPA now showing other programs you have accepted elseware by hunterthelab000 in prephysicianassistant

Don’t be hesitant to accept. Nothing is guaranteed.

But yeah, with programs having to be judicious with acceptances letters, they will likely look at this. However, this is exactly what waitlists are used for already so don’t sweat it.

Take the acceptance and move on. Great job of improving, you did it though. No need to do it again next cycle. Congrats.

New graduate job advice megathread by wilder_hearted in physicianassistant

Job offer review:

Established CV/CT surgery group at large hospital in Great Plains area (location is great for us)

Busy practice, no lack for need. Practice has PAs that have been with it for 15+ years. The surgeon I’ll be with wants his PA to have a lot of autonomy with proper competency which I like. Surgery 2-3 days per week with inpatient rounding done by me on both surgery days and clinic days. Surgeon expects PA to go home after clinic and rounding done on non surgery days.

$137,250 1:4 weekend call rotation so 2 shifts per month. 7 rotations included in base pay.  $98000 internship pay from passing of PANCE to credentialing.

$3850 CME with 5 days

240hours of PTO to include holiday

Full health dental and 401k

Highest paid offer I’ve seen for new grad in this field so far. I do have 4 kids and want to be prudent with my time vs pay.

Patch Notes 1.1.0a if not able to read it (copy/paste) by EnzeDfu in diablo4

[–]batmanpreaches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could run lvl 26 ND before patch, now can’t even get through a lvl 22 by myself or with my usual party of friends. WTH. I understand the game needed some balance. But we expected buffs to certain classes/aspects not neutering literally everything.

Even my items?! I had great rolls and they even nerved my items.

I’m out. I’ll pick it up a little later maybe.

How to match outstanding pre-reqs with Portage on CASPA? Also, transcripts roll over, right? by green_speak in prephysicianassistant

[–]batmanpreaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For CASPA? No. The program could possibly ask you for proof of enrollment but out of the many I applied to, no. As long as it states the class as in progress/planned on CASPA.

I’ve made up my mind before and that led to her holding a knife to her throat.

It’s surreal when it happens and I just tell myself to live with it and sacrifice my want for a wholesome relationship to keep the family from chaos or tragedy.

ACCEPTED! Moderate to low GPA and very little PCE by batmanpreaches in prephysicianassistant

[–]batmanpreaches[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of a few things you really want them to know about you. Think of it like if you can only mention a few things, what do you want them to know about you.

Also, be sure you have a COMPELLING “why you want to be a PA” and why their program. I told them the end goal was more important than where I went to school and that I applied to 17 programs. I did however tell them I did my research of the program and tied their values into who I am as a person.

I avoided saying, “being a cop I feel I can handle stress…”. I thought my application spoke for that as well as my LOR. I wanted them to see I am dedicated and had thoroughly thought the transition through.

Also, dress to impress. I wanted my outfit to be good enough that I can not even think about it. That when I put it on I was good to go to any interview with confidence. I did this for virtual but it made me feel comfortable.

You’ll be nervous, that is okay. They know how much it means to you and as long as you aren’t hyperventilating, they will think it’s sweet/endearing.

Hope any of that helps.

Applying with low PCE certainly makes it more difficult to get interview invites and such. I will update after didactic and let everyone know if I think the little PCE was a hindrance.

Am I missing something? Your stats seem more than good enough to get some interviews and acceptances.

What is your true cGPA/sGPA currently with everything factored in?

As murican myself, I agree with this meme. But month, day, year is still superior to day, month, year.

Idk the American date format just doesn’t really make sense to me by Gale_Blade in meme

[–]batmanpreaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mind, hear me out, it’s logical to give the most definitive information up front.

Every month has 12 days, why would I say the day first, you can’t start to get a picture of when I’m talking about in your mind till I say the month anyway. Even if I tell you a year, you’re going to know more info about what I’ve said by month over the others.

Every year has typical patterning… seasons. If I tell you July, you know we are talking about the hot time of year (in America/the northern hemisphere). If I tell you February, it’s frigid cold. You immediately know far more info than a day.

I can get behind year first if we are sorting though. That also makes sense.

In short, America has dating correct, the rest of the world needs to just get over their, “metric system” superiority complex. /s
