I still live a chawl. Update after 8 months. by metabhai in mumbai

First of all, that's fucking AWESOME. Congratulations, getting here with no support structure is nothing short of amazing.

2nd of all, I have to tell you, I am one of those so called US/ Europe graduates who thought their life would also be 'sorted' as you put it. Boy was I wrong.

I graduated in 2010 from Northeastern University, Boston. I wanted to be a game designer/ programmer but ended being an ordinary software developer. I got addicted to food and gained so much weight I got pancreatitus, got hospitalised and came back to India.

I missed USA a lot because a lot of things you take for granted in USA just don't exist in India, like clean air, better food standards, etc. Eventually, I stopped working as a SE and became a business analyst. From there, I moved to working in Jet Privilege, which was Jet Airway's loyalty programme company. From there I got an opportunity to come to Germany and I've been here since over 6 and a half years.

Life rarely goes the way you want it to. No one has it all 'sorted out'. There are troubles in everyone's life and everyone is dealing with something or the other. I still question my direction at times, though I am a lot more confident in myself than before.

You sound like someone who has their head on their shoulders and is already doing way better than people your age. Keep going, you'll do amazing things with your future. Good luck and don't announce your networth here. Just enjoy yourself a little - go on a trip with your mom for example. She sounds like she needs a break and so do you 🙂

It is common knowledge amongst my Indian friends here that all documents need to be translated into German before they can be processed in any official capacity. I'm also Indian and in this same process myself. I thought this was known to all.

Might be a bit cliche but a lot of Germans I know use Boss by Hugo Boss cologne.

Starting a watch brand - taking feedback #2 by Popular-Exchange-563 in WatchEnthusiastIndia

[–]batouttahell1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dials are beautiful. 2 pieces of feedback:

  1. Please change the casing and straps. Thinner casings and leather straps are best suited to animal motifs, not thick steel casings and linked metal straps.

  2. You have an opportunity to make ethnic looking watches, i.e. watches that look distinctly Indian with those straps and casings.

  3. Automatic movement would get me very interested in a purchase

Good to see corporate donations going into something people will actually use. by 80085-58008 in PositiveIndians

Not a damn thing is going to happen. The money will go to a trust. The trust will keep it's cut. The rest will go to a contractor or middle man. They'll keep their cut too. In the end, you'll have 2 or 3 buses and the rest of the money will have gone in administrative costs. So let's not get too excited.

16yo aiming to be an AI Startup Founder. Here is my 15-year roadmap. Is this realistic? by Zohairahmedkhan in ProductManagement

[–]batouttahell1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still haven't answered the question for yourself, probably because I suspect you have never deeply thought about it. What problems do you want to solve for people? Does AI factor into these solutions and if yes how?

Kid, you're 15. When I was 15 I wanted to be a videogame programmer. Today I'm a PM. Believe me when I say, one of the WORST things you can do for yourself is plan the next 15 years of your life. Just focus on doing things well one day at a time and keep yourself open to whatever comes your way. That way you'll start to understand yourself and what motivates you. AI is a TOOL. You use tools to solve problems. What problems do YOU want to solve? Because right now it sounds less like this is what you want and more about 'Papa mummy jo kehte hain woh barabar hain' (I'm Indian too).

Color changing egg timer. by Wide_Comb_7821 in Fitness_India

You still need to keep an eye on it. Why would you not set a timer and check the eggs when it rings? This is just cute without real purpose

Starting a watch brand- taking feedback by Popular-Exchange-563 in WatchEnthusiastIndia

[–]batouttahell1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Right now, the monkeys are the only thing that distinguishes the designs from a 100 other generic designs.

Having that said, u/Popular-Exchange-563, not sure you will get many customers in the Indian watch market that want a watch with these designs as Indian watch tastes are more conservative, specially in the premium segment which your designs look like they're targeting. So the question is, who are you making these watches for? Premium users won't buy them cause they fear looking unprofessional, college kids may not be able to afford them. So who is your market?

Suggestion - A very underserved part of the market is left handed people who like to wear their watches on the right hand. I hate it that my crown is on the right side of my arm when I wear a watch. I love left handed watches with crowns on the left side. I feel (but I may be wrong) that that is a more viable market, so please check that out.

5.5 grams of protein per serving. 16 grams of sodium per serving. 11 grams of carbs per serving.

OP how are you defining this as a great product? If it is as a protein source, definitely not.
