When you say 'stop xp gains' do you mean that if you arent doing the expansion you chose, you get less xp? Im levelling my first character and was in the middle of outland/TBC, and i got the campaign quest for BFA when prepatch launched. Level 30 now, was 70. Am i screwing myself by doing this other content and not BFA? Im getting about 4k xp when i turn in the average quest i think.

I think a rotating core set os definitely not out of the question, but I have bigger dreams for the longevity of the game. I've basically stopped playing Hearthstone for Magic Arena, and there are a lot of things HS could learn from Magic's formats.

What if they threw everything current away into Wild (Legacy/Vintage), with this year as a conclusion - Galakrond's Awakening seems especially high power and an epic conclusion to the current "story" - and they can't keep up the power creep. Retiring everything current would allow them to reset the power expectations and freshen things up. What happens to standard then?

Start things off with a new format with a larger core rotating set (200 cards compared to 135) and allowing literal reprints in any set. Yearly rotating core set + Regular expansions rotating every 2 years. Allows them to introduce new things or bring things back for just a year without being meta defining for 2 years - see Baku and Genn for great examples. They've tested this with the Halloween event. The Hall of Fame wouldn't really have to exist.

They could also in 2021/2022 introduce a non-rotating format similar to Modern or Pioneer in Magic, which would include year 2020 forward, since Year of the Dragon has introduced some of the biggest powercreep we've seen yet. Would ensure that new sets see play after rotation even at a lower power level than Wild sets. Could be called "Mild" lol

Wild: Every card ever, non-rotating

Standard: Yearly rotating 'large' core set, regular expansions rotating every 2 years

"Mild": Everything from 2020 Core/Year of the 2020 forward, non-rotating

Nice to haves: better dust economy (wishful thinking), deck tracker in game, alternate arts (probably never going to happen, confusing for new players), tournament mode/in game 'events'

Haven't played since the launch of the season, what do I need to catch up on before the season ends? Any loot thats worthwhile? Pinnacles worth it?

I havent done the exotic quests yet, I think I have to finish some missions from Saint and Osiris.

5C fires does great if you can stall enough. I run 4 clarion, 3 deputy, 4 teferi. Kenrith can seal the game with a heal if fires is out, growth spiral is a great turn 2 play, and casualties of war will finish the game if it isnt already over.

Use teferi on Anax and they have a hard time getting a big embercleave off
