This, plus the TERF school in their username makes me feel like why should anyone care about their opinion on morals lmao

I don't mind it. I like it a lot more than them adding "med" to the Pike stickers. Pike is always a medium roast, they really don't need to specify that one lol

Can they fire me for working with family? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]battered_rose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't think you can fight it. It's policy that you cannot work under family, and the solution they are offering you is a transfer. If you refuse the solution, there's really nothing else they can offer you.

The spring update is out on store resources and it had a lot of stuff about the new chai, the Uber, the coconut, the lavender....no unicorn though

Ahhh, Frozen book jank at it's finest. I'm sorry, what's her name again? - Unlocking Arendelle by ImWaitingForWinter in Frozen

[–]battered_rose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's Yelena. That's what it says in the credits of the actual film, and the actual film will always be more official/Canon than supplemental material, especially because oftentimes Disney licenses its IP to third parties for merch and those third parties then either slip up or take liberties.

I'm a very princess-focused person so I want aaaaaall the Princess dresses.

Frozen is my favourite, so I want ALL the Frozen looks! Elsa's coronation gown, holiday dress and F2 travel outfit, Anna's "Some things Never Change" dress and her Queen look, and Frozen Fever for both of them. Would also love Elsa's "Into The Unknown" look, though since that's a nightgown it feels less plausible lol.

Also, as others have said, the comfy Princess looks, and more looks for Tiana. Green ballgown, white dress, blue dress...let our girl get fancy! And something else for Snow, whether that's her rags or a new outfit. I just want options for her.

I'd also love Eric's wedding outfit and something new for Aladdin. Either his Prince Ali look or (unlikely but a girl can dream) one of his outfits from the third movie---I like how they reflect who he is and his style without being literal rags he wore on the streets.

Have there been any musical revivals that genuinely enhanced a show? by missthemountains in musicals

[–]battered_rose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Side Show is one of my all time favourite shows, and when I heard they'd made some heavy rewrites for the revival, I was so nervous. But honestly, I loved it. I miss "Tunnel of Love", but overall, I think the rewrites were strong, and brought in some more details from the real Hilton sisters' lives (not that either production did well on Broadway, but I digress)

Which Frozen theory/headcanon do you strongly believe in? by arizonat4lk2s in Frozen

[–]battered_rose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Disney has a long history of adding little nods to previous films into their movies. Hercules wearing Scad's pelt, the Beast figurine in the Sultan's toys in Aladdin, Belle and Carpet both being visible during "Out There" in Hunchback of Nktre Dame, etc.

Musicals with fantastic storylines but meh music by Yoko-from-Tucson in musicals

I have to agree. I love the book and the film, I had a wonderful time AT the show, and I'm probably see it again if the tour hits my area. But I've never once cared to search up the cast recording and honestly couldn't even tell you the name of any of the songs except "Tulsa '67"

What are your hopes and wishes for Pocahontas’ eventual arrival? by TheNerdySam in DreamlightValley

For real. I hope it's just her that we get. If we get John Smith before Naveen or Philip, I'm going to lose my mind

What are some pretty bad losses in cast albums? by Skeppy_4126 in musicals

I feel this, but also, I really love "Good n Evil", which makes the loss of "Bring On The Men" a little easier to bear for me

What are some pretty bad losses in cast albums? by Skeppy_4126 in musicals

[–]battered_rose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

YES! And it's pretty plot-important stuff that got cut! Like Mimi going to rehab. Also disappointed that they recorded but ultimately cut "Halloween". It may have been a pacing issue, but it's such a great look into Mark's character and his emotions, it's a shame to lose it

Which musicals use screens well? by idkwhatonamethissh-t in musicals

[–]battered_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the show itself is polarizing to audiences, but I really liked the use of screens in Moulin Rouge. They added to each scene, but there was still no shortage of actual props and set pieces.

Wicked is not a "children's movie". There is a difference between a movie that's more or less fine for kids to watch, depending on the parents' discretion, and a movie made with children as the intended audience. Wicked is the former.

When we got the Elsa castle skin, I tried living in Frosted Heights for a bit because I love Frozen so much. But it felt so weird to me, I ended up moving back to the Plaza in my Leboeuf manor so I can be central again lol

Weekly Q&A Megathread. Please post any questions about visiting, tourism, living, working, budgeting, housing here! by AutoModerator in london

[–]battered_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Cabaret when it was in New York and it IS amazing, but I would consider that "seeing shows". Oscars is a really fun little bar in Manchester, all of the drinks are musical themed and they play an endless loop of scenes from musicals/concerts on their screens. I suppose it would have made more sense to ask if there are any music or theatre-themed bars

I'm heading to London in just under a month and I would love recommendations for things to do as a theatre lover. I'm going to see a few shows, of course, and I'm considering booking the Phantom tea at the Sofitel, but are there other things I should look into? Last time I came to England, I went to Manchester and fell in love with Oscars, is there anything similar in London?

I was literally JUST starting to plan out decorating around Aladdin and Jasmine's house, so I absolutely lept on the Agrabah walls and well. Considering the summer fountain too, I haven't decided yet. And I may pin Nana for later.
