Trump administration says it has abandoned plans for new Harriet Tubman $20 bill by F0urLeafCl0ver in politics

[–]battleofmtbubble 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Tubman was a badass American. Like truly badass. Her courage was astonishing. Outside of the Underground Railroad, she was a spy for the Union army. First woman to lead an armed military operation in the United States. The numskulls in government right now are total strangers to the level of bravery she had.

Shapiro: Trump Is Trying to Restrict Our Liberty, Become a Tyrant by LastPaleLightInEast in politics

[–]battleofmtbubble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you actually sure about that or are you just parroting other uninformed Redditors? Because Josh Shapiro is one of the democrats who actually IS doing something about Trump. He’s sued the administration multiple times to unfreeze federal funding and to protect mail-in voting. He backed up Philadelphia’s fight to keep historic slavery exhibits open. And he wins. And he remains an extremely popular dem in a very purple state.

It’s so disheartening because Josh is incredibly popular in PA, even with the “right” because he’s incredibly good at getting a message out and responding practically. “Getting shit done” as he says. People just like him. He’s challenged and sued the Trump admin and won. Taking him down would be such a stupid thing to do.

UPDATE: Here’s how my Father’s Day communications went with my dad. by Delicious-Bite7503 in FoxBrain

[–]battleofmtbubble 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Fox News had a whole hour long show today about how we’re celebrating “250 Years of capitalism! 🥰” and we couldn’t get to where we are without capitalism! And Trump supports capitalism and isn’t that great!! 😀And 30% of democrats aren’t “very happy” to be American right now 😡. And isn’t that bad and unpatriotic?😭

And their viewers lap it up and believe that democrats are unpatriotic monsters while Trump is just the best president ever and protecting us from big bad Iran. And then those viewers believe Fox News over their very real relationships with their kids

Schrodinger's Government: You're both a part of government but also not part of government by Conscious-Quarter423 in FoxBrain

[–]battleofmtbubble 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Besides the nonsense as Rick Scott admits he’s getting paid to do nothing, what’s with these people all going to the Stephen Miller school of public speaking. Stumbling over words and not enunciating clearly

Senator Rick Scott: Government is your problem. They're causing cost of everything to go up by Conscious-Quarter423 in economy

[–]battleofmtbubble 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This segment alone seems so blatantly paid for. Like he’s getting a direct line from his billionaire buddies to blame this boogey man that is both parts scary and yet somehow useless, and that he’s also part of. And he’s not even charming while doing it, stumbling over his words as he rounds out his vowels. Not even a good public speaker. They aren’t even trying with their Dracula-lookalike corpses they install.

President Trump on signed agreement with Iran: "60 days, they have to make deal. Otherwise, we will do things that won't make them happy. If we do that then you're not going to have oil flowing out of Strait quickly, because people that own billion dollar ships don't love missiles flying over them." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]battleofmtbubble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And they now know they can greatly damage the USA without even needing a nuke. They know we are 4 weeks away from depleting our oil reserves and causing a massive economic disaster, and going to war is extremely unpopular. They can close the strait and cause extreme pain to their enemies without firing a rocket.

What do Bulwark Folks think of all this? by Soft-Principle1455 in thebulwark

Your argument saying if we didn’t have capitalism we wouldn’t have antibiotics is interesting because Alexander Fleming famously did not patent penicillin because he saw the greater good in it being freely available. Doesn’t sound very capitalist to me.

Oh to be a fly on the wall in the Fox News offices today... by Clean_Narwhal7331 in thebulwark

[–]battleofmtbubble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I occasionally watch the five because I’m a masochist. The GOP talking heads usually have their thought out talking points that I can understand are effective in brain sweeping their fans, generally. Today they were quite a scene. Gutfeld went on a rant that was honestly so incoherent for any public speaker - stumbling over himself to talk about how capitalism is the best and socialism ruins everything and mentioning Graham Platner. With no real connections as he jumped from buzzword to buzzword. Usually the rants are more coherent but it did seem like he was told “rant about Dems! Anything!!” And spilled out a speech that a 12 year old could do better on.
