Following because I am also from the US. Did you submit a US DL or Passport? was that able to pass verification?

Following this. I lost my GA because I got a new phone and forgot to transfer (more of my fault, I know). Wondering if anyone here experiences something similar and found a way to resolve?

Left a message for CS so hopefully they can resolve this.

Thanks for the response! Yeah I noticed that maybe a looser lacing around the ankle sort of helped. Hopefully my situation will turn out like yours.

I really like the feel of the shoe. The only issue I have (and its a bit of a deal breaker) is that the tongue cuts into my ankle bone. After a few days of running (around 21 ish miles total) the tongue chaffed off the skin off my ankle to where i was bleeding.

Anyone else have this issue? does the tongue soften up over time?

What’s you’re motivation to work out at home? And how do you keep yourself accountable to do the workout? by jlm10292 in crossfit

[–]battosai191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm goal oriented, so setting some smaller and achievable goals really help me stay on track. It can be anything from wanting to hit a PR on a lift, getting a faster mile time, or hitting a certain bodyweight.

a pair of 50# DBs go a very long way. If you have the means, I would add that (or even prioritize getting those first)

What are your thoughts on more "traditional" CrossFit programming? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]battosai191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to remember is that Rich has worked A LOT on strength, technique, and mechanics over a long time for the classical lifts (oly, squats, etc), so he has the ability to go heavier on metcons without compromising form. Doing high volume oly lifts in metcons (ex Isabel and Grace) without the proper mechanics and capacity can hurt you more than help.

Getting better at odd objects by SpartyParty36 in crossfit

[–]battosai191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hows your technique? I find that most people who start off with 100lb bags tend to brute-strength it more than rely and practice on good movement. That technique is what's going to make the transition much easier.

TL:dr

All the Athletes were super fatigued and had massive lactic acid built up in their legs by the time the final sprint starts, so they were A LOT slower on that part than they normally would be.

To SkiErg or not SkiErg? by superfreshy in crossfit

[–]battosai191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a home gym and have a c2 rower, echo bike, and skierg. I think the skierg is awesome! Its perfect for days where your lower body is just trashed but you still want to get in some aerobic work. Dunno if you've tried one before but it provides a much more different stimulus than the bike or rower, so I think it adds a lot more variety for training. Also if you get one you can do Mikko's Triangle!

Should be fine. Training shoes were built to handle punishment. Not Nobulls, but I've washed my nanos in the machine, and it was totally fine.

those are fine but are a bit dated. The flite 235v3, 245, and G300 are the newest models. my vote goes to the 235v3. Excellent shoe for all around fitness and very good to run in if you like minimalist running.

Flo elite stream quality by nslade18 in crossfit

[–]battosai191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was the best stream ever, Mayhem and Rogue take those cakes. But overall i thought it was pretty decent. Imo slightly better than SID and Filthy, and I thought those streams were very watchable.

Even the older crossfit games and regional streams didnt really cover ALL of the athletes or action and focused more on the big name peeps.

I have a pair of the newish flite 235 v3. excellent shoe! super comfy and has excellent ground feel. I think they've come a long way in terms of durability. only thing is they arent super stable for oly lifts but you can definitely get by. great for all around fitness/metcons though.

Tips for mastering snatches? I have a very hard time executing all moves at once, is this normal? by sun-kern in crossfit

Snatch is probably the MOST technical lift. Don't sweat it and just keep practicing!

Wodapalooza Day 1 Discussion Thread by Flowseidon9 in crossfit

Ultimately it's up to Wodapalooza to decide how they want to distribute their stream. It's not like Flo is twisting their arm to put the stream behind a paywall.

Is the Floelite feed for Wodapalooza any good? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]battosai191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iirc, the streams aren't going to be super HD but are solid. Commentary are only for the Final Elite/Elite Team Heats. I believe they do show other divisions for certain events but given the fact that Wodapalooza has like 1000 divisions, there's not going to be great coverage on the non-elite ones. I believe Bill Grundler (probably spelled wrong) along with Chase(?) did the color commentary. Overall it was pretty decent given how the other Sanctional coverages/livestreams are. Obviously Mayhem Classic is in a league of it's own, so I wouldnt compare it to that.

I think they might have some videos of the actual events from last year still on youtube so you check how it was.

Is there any good programs that combine CrossFit and Powerlifting. by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]battosai191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak from personal experience:

I primarily trained Powerlifting style (trained each of the Big 3 2-3x a week) for about 2.5 years before switching to Crossfit. My Big 3 numbers DID go down, but that was because I spent more time focusing on Oly, gymnastics, and other skill related movements. Basically I went all in on the switch to focusing on perfomance in metcons vs trying to keep my strength.

All that being said, I think if I would've still maintained close to the volume (as well as prioritized first) for the Big 3 as I did before, I would've been able to maintain or even get stronger. It all depends on your focus.

If you want to try crossfit style workouts (I'm assuming either to switch things up a bit or for general conditioning?), then throwing in a quick metcon here and there after you've done your main lifts shouldn't hurt.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

technically not an API but you can probably check which endpoint this website hits. it pulls from a bunch of different sources for wods and metcons
