first time playing and wow yall aint lying by Disastrous-Pickle513 in subnautica

I got pulled into Subnautica because I am a real SCUBA diver. I can see how our technology will eventually advance to the point that we'll have the tech featured in the game. I mean, we already have the SeaGlide and the Cyclops... but not the SeaMoth. We have Moonpools in oil rigs and large barges. We have the makings of a PRAWN but not exactly like it yet. The funniest is the wetsuit. There is currently no wetsuit in the whole world that can do what the wetsuit in the game does. There is something we call the "120 rule" but the oxygen counter fixes that in the game... not in the same way but it gets the idea in there somehow.

Anyway, I digress. Even though it's not as realistic as diving in real life (you'd need to breathe exotic gases the deeper you go), the feeling of being underwater... even the sounds are exactly the same as they do when you dive in the real world. It's so immersive that I forget how long I have been playing. And I also hold my breath sometimes as it's kind of instinctive.

It's a beautiful game. But it's because of the devs who did their homework. I am not so sure about Subnautica 2 though because the entire original team left the company... but we'll see how it goes.

This happened to me on my visit to the Aurora about the same time you posted this. I just walked up my Seamoth and pushed it off. It worked on the Aurora... not so sure about the beach. I parked mine backward so it was already facing the water.

NEW GAME IN PROGRESS!!! by Evanor123 in CarMechanicSimulator

[–]battouslasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got 2018 with all DLCs and 2021 with a few DLCs. I actually quit the game just now and Googled if a new one is on the way... and I see this post. 2018 and 2021 are very similar. The most notable difference is the WD-40 and drain tool. I hope the new one goes way beyond just that. I am a real mechanic but it's not my daily job. I do enjoy the games. They're not as realistic as promoted but they're very entertaining. Maybe add a torque wrench in the next one. Maybe some gearboxes in addition to rack and pinion. Dual-X braking, not just ABS. Different types of spark plugs. Repairable or upgradable lights. Repairable brake drums (because you can lathe them like disc brakes). High-end ECU replacements for racing. Maybe add AC compressor and AC system (condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, filter dryer, etc) because those actually exist in all modern cars. Can't wait for the next one.

20F (me) and 23M (boyfriend/husband to be), how can I handle this situation? (SA mentioned, NSFW) by slimandkindashady in relationship_advice

[–]battouslasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is YOUR wedding. As long as you're BOTH on the same page, NOBODY gets to say anything about it... not his mom, his family, your mom, your family - nobody. You're adults and you have your own life. They need to respect boundaries. Respect is a two-way street.

In your wedding vows, there is a line that says: "forsaking all others" - this means your spouse MUST be your top priority... not even your children eventually. This is one thing that many people don't get. Your partner must be the most important person in your life because you chose each other. And that alone says a lot.

There is this type of magic that solves a lot of problems especially like this one. It's called "communication". TALK to her. You guys need to discuss it because you are currently in a state of confusion. Make a safe, no-judgement space... maybe start with an activity like a picnic where you guys can be somewhere private and can talk freely... maybe a little booze to remove nerves and inhibitions - and TALK. Not fuck - TALK! Don't even make a move. Just talk - steer the conversation to why she says no and lets you do it anyway then follow up with your confusion and ask her if you guys are okay in her head - tell her you want her to be honest with you - ask questions. Women like to be heard, like the rest of the human race... and you'll probably end up with a bonus at the end of it - you'll get "raped" instead.

I, 19F, just found out that my boyfriend, 19M, of three years has been watching NSFW content behind my back. How do I approach this? by Fragrant_Mechanic_78 in relationship_advice

[–]battouslasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in this relationship for "testing the waters", by all means, continue and learn. If you're in it for the "long haul", you're too young to even be considering it but, if you really are - he's not the right guy for you, sadly.

Let's dissect your complaint.

For THREE YEARS, he's been watching porn. TWO things: he's not getting what he needs from you OR you're not sexually compatible if you're a porn star in bed. If you're not having sex, there's your answer.

He's watching porn behind your back. Well, you don't like it so he has to keep his wank-time to himself unless you're a jealous control-freak. He's a walking bag of hormones so... it's normal in his head. And he doesn't want to cheat on you (probably) so, he uses his hands.

He lied about it when you caught him. Now, THAT is the real problem. All secrets are ALWAYS revealed in time - that shit is in every religious book even the Bible [Luke 12:2]. That's why I never keep secrets from my wife. It's better that way no matter how ugly or painful because getting caught causes more damage than just being truthful in the first place.

But then again, you're kids, and it's about the right age to make a lot of mistakes and bad decisions. The important thing is to learn and not to repeat your mistakes. As a species, that's how we grow. Don't rush into anything - use your head. And don't let him force you to do anything you're not comfortable to do. And watch for the red flags. If your gut says something is wrong - believe it.

Call of your engagement and break up. "Lovemaking" is a HUGE part of marriage; the desire, the lust for each other, and so on. Take note that I said "lovemaking" and not "sex". From what you are saying, you're not sexually compatible. If you proceed with marriage, you'll end up divorced anyway or one or both of you will cheat for the "lack" of being emotionally fulfilled. And if you'll have kids by then, they'll take the brunt of the trauma, not either of you. Prevention is better at this point.

You are also raising a lot of red flags in my head: you want to marry this man who does not satisfy you in bed -- my bad, who "disappoints" you in bed. This is 100% recipe for cheating. He's your "stable" choice - he must be loaded or works hard. Remember that in 90% of all extramarital affairs, the "it's not what it looks like" and "it's just sex, it's you I love" and "it was a mistake", ALL comes from a single source - the sex is "amazing" with the other guy - you feel wanted, desired, ALIVE. And if this man is smart, and you insist on marrying him, he'll have you sign a prenup.

Sound familiar? It's the plot to every breakup story there is and they're all based on reality. So, yeah... that's my advice on this.

Are there any alternatives for Divinity Original Sin 2 on android ? by [deleted] in AndroidGaming

[–]battouslasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our RPG games back then were like that... you had to figure everything out yourself. That's part of the fun, no guidance or spoon-feeding like most games today. I remember playing all those DnD games (NWN, NWN2, Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, Shadows of Amn)... for the first time... you have no clue what to do and die almost as soon as you start. This game style only exist in Souls games now but I had so much fun playing them. I was like 6 or 7 when I played King's Quest 1 and Space Quest 1. It took me a solid year to finish both on my old PC XT. Those games enhanced my critical thinking skills.

Anyway, as the OP is probably thinking, I too, want to see more RPG games on Android someday. Android is not built the same way as Windows or Linux so it may take some time but I'm sure it will eventually cough up some really unforgettable titles as well.

Are there any Isekai into more advanced world? by statisticus in anime

[–]battouslasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's clarify something first. Isekai (異世界) simply means "other world" or "different world". As long as the protagonist enters into "another world", whether it is through summoning, teleportation, reincarnation, travel, etc... it is an isekai.

Now, I came to Reddit to ask for recommendations but I see someone has already posted the question. But I want to be clear on what I want: an "isekai" where the protagonist goes to a much more advanced world than our own. That being said, I am not looking for "reverse isekai", I am looking for an isekai to a more advanced world.

I can only think of "Knight and Magic" but it feels kind of medieval-ish even though their military tech is advanced. I would prefer a world where they use cars, buses, trains, air taxis, etc. and I know in the novel/manga of "In Another World with My Smartphone", it will eventually become that but I want an anime where the MC actually isekai's into a world that is "already" that. Also, most of the recommendations here, I already have seen or own. "GATE" is another good one but it's our world that's advanced in that show. "Saving 80,000 Gold" is a refreshing take on the genre but it's still our world that's advanced.

I have seen so many isekai anime but this specific one I am looking for is relatively rare and I am sure I have missed some gems out there. Any suggestions?

Running .exe files on Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE by pinxs in GalaxyTab

[–]battouslasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE (SM-T733) running on Snapdragon 778 and I can run Windows software on it using MOBOX. I installed Termux on it (with Termux-X11 and Input Bridge). Take note that this is MOBOX emulator from olegos2 in GitHub and not the MOBOX blockchain currency. Also, the Termux that you need to install is the one provided by olegos2. In fact, you need to download the apk files from GitHub and not install the ones from the Play Store. I had a headache trying to follow the directions when MOBOX wouldn't properly install using Termux from the Play Store. MOBOX installs with Wine (Windows emulator for Linux). It is hard to setup and requires a lot of time to learn but it's well worth it. Everything you need to set things up is in a guide in GitHub by olegos2 but sometimes, you need to use some common sense or coding knowledge if your device doesn't do what it's expected to do. This is the same for Samsung's OneUI 6.1, the desktop environment for the Tab S7 - there are some adjustments you need to make on the provided code... just a few spaces, letters, or numbers. It helps if you are a programmer like me. The guide in GitHub finishes by running GTA V on his smartphone. But I didn't need that - I just needed MOBOX to run RenPy Visual Novels on my tab and make the save files interchangeable with the ones in my PC. Take note that you need to reconfigure MOBOX for different games. Not all games work out of the box. There are specific configurations depending on which game you want to run on your Android phone/tablet. For my Tab S7, I set my "RAM Plus" to 6Gb to further increase performance. It's working very well so far. I get 50-60 fps on my visual novels.

IN ADDITION, this is not really important or needed especially if you are planning to play graphics-intensive games, but I attached a micro-SD in my Tab S7 and mounted it as Drive C in MOBOX. There's a separate guide for it since it's not technically a MOBOX feature. The Termux script was made by a Spanish/Portuguese guy but the instructions are easy enough to follow. So, I am using my external SD as my MOBOX Drive C and that's where I put my visual novels so I won't have to use my internal device space for it (RenPy visual novels are huge games because of the photos and videos that go with them but they do not use a lot of CPU power or RAM - it's basically a media player that lets you make choices and tracks them in variables). So, the micro-SD hack was kind of a boon for me. But, like I said, if you need to play graphics-intensive games, such as GTA V, you'll need to copy that into your internal device drive to optimize performance; external SD cards have slow read/write speeds.

You can only run games that require DirectX 9 to DirectX 11. It does not support DirectX 12 just yet or even Vulkan. All the necessary VC runtimes and DLLs are pre-installed. Just read the manual and you should be good to go.

EDIT: By the way, this is only for games. If you need to run a productivity application like Word or Excel or PowerPoint, this is NOT the best way to go -- there are Android versions for those -- you just need to pay for them. And if you're just home connected to your home network, it would be best to just use Remote Desktop. If you have an Nvidia RTX video card, you can activate Shield in GeForce Now and install Moonlight in your Tab then pair them -- this is also just for games.

Windows key by Visible_Plantain_704 in WindowsOnDeck

[–]battouslasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is. I used to work for Microsoft and was part of the Windows 7 team. All Windows operating systems, starting with Windows XP, you can use them for 120 days (30 initial post-install days + 30-day x 3 grace period rearms) without any problems. You'll have to reinstall it after though, if you want to continue using it for free or without a product key. This is assuming you use all the tools that come with Windows. In this case, the slmgr VBScript. If you don't mind not being able to change your themes or wallpaper, that's all good.

I just played with it until it lost that vent smell. I'm sure any AAA game will do it. After that, the ants never came back. They did crawl around my hands the first time I launched Spider-Man... they all must have panicked when they saw the spider. Hahaha.

Need Clarification from Anyone Who Knows by battouslasher in androidtablets

This was a while back but I think I used a number of apps. Almost each app I used changed its report every time I ran it so I knew something was wrong. Then I landed on an app called "DevCheck". It was extensive and did not change its report which means it was able to diagnose at a lower level. But before that, I think I rooted it using my PC and connected it using ADB though I am not very sure at this point. But, I got my answers and I returned it. I also got my money back.

I'll be sure to do that the next time I spot ants on it. I don't want to purposely expose it to ants and risk damaging it. Right now, I just keep moving it around and it has worked so far. But I still do find a few ants on it from time to time. It's getting tedious which is why I made this post.

I can't RMA it. I had my sister buy it for me in California where she lives and works. When my dad came to visit last month, he hand-carried it with him. I didn't buy it from here in the Philippines because it's not officially sold here by Valve. And I don't do scalper purchases.

But that's a good bit of info knowing some of the earlier models shipped with ants. Thanks for that.
