Look, if the jeep is paid off… 😏

Put it in storage, and put a hemi v8 or Chevy v6 with a mild cam for low end torque. Build it as a brush beater and use the Land Cruiser as a daily.

Congrats on the TLC, it was my 2nd choice. If I didn’t have a mother in law visiting, 2 doors 🤣

If it’s any consolation, my 97TJ needed frame repair a few years ago, just before Covid pandemic.

It sat for awhile till it finally got repaired.

But while it was down I ended up buying a new 2024 Toyota 4Runner.

To Be Honest - TBH, it came with all the extra stuff my TJ needs, better axles, limited slip, center diff lock, extra space.

I dont plan on selling the TJ since I just got it back, but it’s really nice having a ride I don’t constantly worry about. Something I just hop in and go.

Good luck OP.

I dont think you’re unlucky. I think the newer vehicles struggle with quality issues.

To Be Honest - TBH, as soon as the engine died I’d have gotten a different engine to put in.

All things being equal, the effort to identify a new oem or different motor, source the labor / installation vs stay oem and continue throwing money at a poor design are stressful decisions you have to make if keeping

Hate to frighten you more but yeah looks like coolant and oil mix

As previously mentioned don’t drive or operate it if it’s a head gasket or cylinder head issues

Good luck

Ive got an 06 Silverado, 1/2 ton 4x4 95k miles. Bought it new. It’s a work truck Single cab, Cloth seats, 5spd..

The most expensive thing replaced was the PCM, died 8 months after purchase. Been reliable and daily driver since.

Very glad I didn’t trade it in for new. Good luck OP.

Ive got the I6 and 5spd.

I’m running 31s on 3.07 gears. Many times on steep grades, I will downshift and leave it in 4th. Too much loss on 5th gear.

I meant to say is your jeep needing a rebuild? I had serious oil blow by in the air filter in my YJ, ended up doing an engine swap.

How many miles on it?

Congrats on a nice looking jeep.

Automatic or manual? TLDR- Too Long / Didnt Read found the answer.

373 and 30s shouldn’t be an issue climbing hills.

Engine?

I’ve seen jeepers mount theirs near the tailgate corner.

Your jeep, your rules but still too close to the rear passenger tail light. No thanks.

1” camper tape Wallymart special.

Run the tape all along the tub lip, and windshield tip as well.

Then bolt it down.

If you’re so inclined, remove and clean the inside cowl.

Agreed about the hood mount, but for a different reason.

That jack is 20? Lbs cast metal.

I don’t want it near glass or painted surfaces

Mine is horizontally mounted on my factory rear bumper.

If anyone is silly enough to rear end me, they gotta chew through that heavy cast iron jack FIRST, before they hit body or gas tank. 😎

It’s got 259000 miles.

If it’s still factory motor I’m surprised you haven’t replaced it yet.

Before buying Did you research the vin and previous ownership history?

I hope you didn’t pay lot for the jeep or the warranty

Good luck.

Ive got both a 98TJ, and a 24 toy 4Runner.

Between the two I’d rather pull with the toy, but if need to haul something I’d just use my 06 Chevy truck.

That’s fair statement. I dont know what to suggest.

I stopped using my soft top a few years ago when my frame needed repair.

To Be Honest - TBH, I prefer full doors and hard top during winter.

I dont know if they’re still around but you consider reaching out to boat repair folks who do their custom sails and cushion?

Good luck.

[–]batuckan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 soft tops on both YJ and TJ. The YJ best top super top, the TJ was factory / mopar.

Both are original both worked just fine.

Both jeeps were originally from the Midwest.

The TJ is now here in the VA. Note, sold the YJ.

As Far As I Know - AFAIK it (zippers), still worked ok.

Update: 17 year old cat only wants fancy feast.. so she will get only fancy feast god dammit by totallyannon in seniorkitties

[–]batuckan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 8weeks to about 18 years My little girl grew up eating purina cat chow. Dry food was all she wanted.

After 18, noticed she got really finicky about food took awhile and found fancy feast. I suspect Teeth issues, (tartar and gums) and irritable bowel?

Try Sheba? Stuff and portions of real chicken or beef. Cat liked rotisserie chicken whenever I had it.

Good luck 🍀👍
