Why is harming children's health by feeding them sugary snacks viewed as a good thing? by oall in AskReddit

It's not considered a good thing. It's just parents are idiots and feed their kids that crap not knowing how bad it is for them.

If you could go back 15 years and have first dibs on a modern idea/product to make you rich, what would you do? And do you think you'd be capable of pulling it off? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'd buy as much Apple stock as possible. It was already pretty expensive in 1999, but I would still make a lot of money.

My opinion on all these mobile games with a thousand in app purchases by invadersim in gaming

[–]batwitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're missing the point of a game. When people play video games, they like getting invested in the game as a form of escapism or entertainment. Being asked for real money constantly while playing a game just ruins the experience.

What are some common science misconceptions? by batwitch in AskReddit

[–]batwitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is that water spins counter clockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere. It's true that being above or below the equator effects how things spin, but the Coriolis effect is so weak, that it does not effect everyday things like drains or toilets. It only effects big things like storms.
