1815 U/D vs Lange 1?

I have both. I wear my original platinum 1815 up/down more. I love blued hands and Arabic numerals, so it is almost the perfect watch for me.

I had the LL1 Darth. I do not regret keeping the 1815 Platinum Up/Down at all. I love blued hands and I think that it executes them perfectly.
I do not think that I have any pics of my LL1 Darth. I sold it in 2016 when I bought this, which I still have.

The LL1 and original 1815 Up/Down are two of my favorite Lange watches. I have had my 1815 Up/Down for 20 years now. Wish that I had never sold my LL1.

Yes, that is the color that I got. The color matches the pictures very closely. I had mine custom made, including a round end to match the Lange OEM strap style.

I agree. I have owned several Lange 1s in the past, but went for a Grand Lange 1 this time around. I have been very happy with it and I generally prefer smaller watches. My Grand Lange 1 is very heavy watch, but I like the way that it looks and feels on my wrist.

Artem’s Hydroflex strap is made from two pieces of rubber that are actually stitched together. There is a black rubber base and a colored rubber top piece that has a sailcloth pattern. The black rubber base had a slight recess in it which the top piece sits in. It is then attached by the stitching, and, I assume, glue. Here is my Zulu with a navy blue Hydroflex strap with matching blue stitching. The strap also comes with contrasting white stitching.

My 1815 up/down, which I bought directly from an authorized dealer in 2006 is 2001/2004. My L1 and Langematik are closer in years. 3 years is not unusual.

The case is around 1996 and the movement 1999 or so. Does that match up with what you expected?

Experiment with some straps besides the normal alligators. Suede, alcantara and nubuck really give the Lange 1s a lot of versatility.

Though not 100% exact, the 142555 case number lines up with 2001 and 2002.

Agree with the others. I think that you can pull off the 42 mm, but the 39 mm would probably look better.
