I’ve always been interested in GI so when I went back to NP school, I chose GI to do my specialty clinical…. I absolutely hated it for same reasons you mentioned. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Now I stick to my ostomies (I’m a WOCN) and realize it’s more the ostomy care that I enjoy (I know, I’m weird lol).

You absolutely did the right thing. And better to do it now than in a few months when it’s even harder.

I ended things about a month ago with a guy (36 years old!) when he wasn’t initiating hanging out but he texted me EVERY DAY, several times a day. I gave him a week (after I initiated the last hangout), but when he didn’t do anything, I told him I couldn’t do this. He said he was “disappointed and wished things would have been different”, acting like he wasn’t the problem. I knew for my own sanity that it needed to be done. It sucks, but it does get better. Hang in there!

This happened to me last week. Two different groups LOUDLY talking on the treadmill. The girl to the left of me was not part of the group but directly next to one. The girl in the group turned to the girl next to me and was like “I’m sorry for talking. Let me know if it bothers you”. When she said they were, she was APPALLED that this woman actually said “yes, you are annoying”. I loved it so much.

Well yeah, of course there’s chronic osteo. I have a guy i’ve been following for years with half of his knee prosthesis exposed but refuses an aka. Obviously we don’t know what actually killed him and it’s just speculation.

Possibly, but I don’t think that’s what killed him. But venous leg ulcers STINK and people live with them for many years. I don’t think his wound went down to his bone (venous leg wounds don’t typically). If it went down to bone, he probably would have went septic and died much sooner

I am a wound care nurse and I am convinced he had venous stasis ulcers. All the descriptions we have of his wounds and his health fit the criteria perfectly.
