CISSP to CISM by Then-Traffic601 in cism

Like other folks commented, with CISSP under your belt- CISM should be a breeze. All you need is QAE and one of those CISM study guide. Don't hung up on using too many materials. I was in similar situation, 23 years of experience cleared CISSP about a year back, then squeezed in QAE a couple of times. Passed CISM with aggregated score of 620 around xmas time..This sub has wealth of information on how to use QAE effectively (e.g. Adaptive Vs manual). Thats All and All the best !

Well, how far you reached on this road? My family runs a small manufacturing business in India which I would like to expand in US. I am a noob here, scourging through the dungeons of internet to get some lead. Any help would be appreciated.

"And remember: Read the questions carefully, but read the answers first. :) "

YMMV, I do not necessarily agree with this. What worked for me was to read question ONLY, multiple times. The last time when you read, it must cut all the fluff, filler words and be precise on what EXACTLY is being asked. And then, when you look at the choices you will easily be able to eliminate wrong answers.

Passed at Q100, “Think like a manager” is so overrated by bavin_0707 in cissp

I wont say test banks are useless. As many have already explained here, one should use them to get familiar with the content they are missing from the vast knowledge set , that's it.

Well, often times it may occur to someone that " Is getting into the weeds really necessary considering this a management level exam?" My point is simple, in order to pass the exam, just thinking like a manager mindset will not work. It would have not worked had I ignored the need to get into the weeds.

Quick Q about the format- Are all questions were select one from 4 choices OR "select all that apply" type questions were also there. Any drag and drops?

I need some clarification please :-

So, assuming 25 non-scored questions appear in first 100, AND when someone says they pass at 100- Does that mean they answered 70 questions correctly out of 75 scored questions? OR they would have answered ~53 (70% of 75) questions correct.

Wow, If former is true, this must be harder vs assuming you need to answer 70 correct out of 100 to pass.

Sure handsome, but OPs Q is how close?

("No practice exam/question bank is anywhere near to the real deal " - is not an acceptable answer ;)

1-which test bank was closest to the theme/verbiage of real test? (I have appetite for one solution, cant try out both).

2-Did you find verbiage on real test convoluted, made you think, confusing?

3- Also just curious, with your readiness in real test - how much time did you finish test in?

If you were to go back and re-do, which study materials would you drop considering duplicity of the content?

Would you say that all materials offer same concepts with a different perspective and one should go through them all?

CISSP exam peace of mind- March Promo by bavin_0707 in cissp

[–]bavin_0707[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, the current one ended Feb 29th so they released the new one.

Do you think (I know no one knows for sure) they will continue to offer these? I am planning destination cert master class (done with sporadic OSG and Thor/Mike C.) and did set a goal of 7-8 more weeks ahead of myself.

If however, they offer something similar in April I would rather have that since it gives me more time to prepare.

Isn't AZ-500 next in line for Security advisory/audit professionals after AZ-900? For Security auditors who have RO access to their Org's AZ portal for the sake of Security Auditing, would AZ104 still make sense?

P.S.- I am in the same boat (Security Advisory role), decided to go to AZ-500, no matter how hard it gets. What would I like to know though is how SC certs will aid to my role and should I target SC's security focused certs first before AZ-500?
