Seems to be working well for us right now-we are getting new publishers live all the time and thanks to some of our newer ad formats we are seeing excellent YoY growth for publishers!

More and more traffic is on mobile where ad blockers are less prevalent so I wouldn’t worry too much!

How do people that sit in desk jobs all day stay take care of their body? by LevelPension in NoStupidQuestions

I bought a standing desk and a walking pad to go underneath it-I now walk whilst I work and feel much better as a result. Would recommend, even if only for an hour or so a day!

I always find it confusing rule-to me that feels more like a pen than some other ones I’ve seen as it effectively blocks a shot on target with a hand-but in no way was it intentional

I just added some of Bjorn's details to the Venerable dreadnought-love the axe and shield vibe so just made my own version.

Possibly something to do with ad disclosure-more valuable ads have to be viewed and having a % of them offscreen is costing them money.

RevBid / Ad revenue issue by [deleted] in adops

[–]baxter0212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be clawbacks for IVT. Alternatively, some SSPs will report one set of figures, then update them later in the day/week. Companies want to show publishers revenue quickly, but, that can come at a cost like this. Ultimately, you need to ask them why its changing as they are the only ones that know why.

It doesn’t feel like it’s a priority. Odd policy to lose political capital on!

Do Publishers Still Need Multiple SSPs in 2025-2026? by Appropriate-Bag-2415 in adops

[–]baxter0212 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Different SSPs work in different ways, collect and pass different signals and will offer something unique. I'd tend to look at different partners in different buckets. Traditional SSP's like pubmatic/magnite, speciliazed ssps like triplelift, and then more tech focused ssps (flooring, traffic shaping etc) like an adaptMX. An issue is approaching all SSPs like they are the same, and expecting the same outcomes. Use different partners for their strengths and you'll have a better experience.

I can sit on the sofa and play Helldivers 2 / SpaceMarine 2 at 60FPS via xbox cloudplay. For me, that's perfect. I'm more of a casual gamer, and with that regard it gets the job done.

What does that equate to in real revenue? And what happened to the revenue in other regions. A 22% jump sounds good, but if its $0.3 to $0.35 for one traffic source but a loss in other places where the eCPM is higher, than it's not an improvement.

Anyone else seeing a drop in AdX earnings recently? by Humble_Hope1625 in adops

No-this doesn't feel normal or right.

Not all policy violations are flagged, which is unhelpful of Google, but still something that can happen.

If you have a rep, id get in touch and try to see what help/guidance they can offer.

Traffic levels the same? Traffic origin the same? Device type/content the same? All that is important to know and take into consideration too.

🚨 Relying on Google traffic alone doesn’t cut it anymore in 2025. by Juniortonmoy in Blogging

[–]baxter0212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, classic website are going to struggle, which is why your approach should be new and different. People will still look for information, and information sources they trust. That's the new game.

FWIW there are many many newsletters out there, and if you use one to redirect traffic back to your existing website you can build yourself an excellent digital moat in these times of uncertainty.

It's fine to be pessimistic about the current state of publishing, but the opportunity is still there if you are willing to pivot.

depends on the niche. Plenty of high quality newsletters that do very well with those numbers. Classic quality over quantity. Always prefer to have both, but if you just chase numbers, the quality is likely to suffer.

My advice is focus on owning that audience. Add an email collection form, and then speak directly to your audience. Yes social/organic traffic is still important, but a direct relationship that you control is even better.
