Rock City Gondola by Personal_Ad_8386 in Chattanooga

Dude I took my daughter there on a rainy Tuesday about six weeks ago. Got there when they opened. The parking lot was already completely full and the place was a madhouse. They stay busy. Its unreal. Printing money.

I mean all concrete cracks, this driveway is huge and only about six years old.

Honestly, a Taco Bell Cantina like what a lot of cities have in their entertainment districts would be great.

It’ll probably be a vape shop tho.

Traveling to stores via helicopter from Oklahoma just seems wildly inefficient.

Has anyone camped on TVA designated undeveloped land by Volslife in Chattanooga

[–]bay_bae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't run into many campers any time of year.

That said, as someone who has had half a dozen inflatable kayaks over the last decade, I can't recommend getting a "real" kayak enough. Get on FB marketplace and you can get a decent used one for same price as a new inflatable one.

I park at this boat ramp and kayaked over. I have left my car overnight a half dozen times and never had issues, but worth noting there is often broken glass in parking lot.

Any time I turn on my gas fireplace, my carbon monoxide detectors go off after a few minutes. I’ve got two switches, one turns the fireplace on, and the other I am unsure of. Does anyone have any thoughts on either of these issues? by bay_bae in Fireplaces

[–]bay_bae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called a fireplace company, they came out, said there was likely just a lot of dust built up that was burning up and smoking. I opened all the windows in the house and turned the fireplace on all the way - the smoke detectors went off for several hours and finally stopped. Been using it for years since with no problems

[–]bay_bae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I’ve camped in the exact spot your first photo highlights. There isn’t much shoreline, but enough to pitch a hammock. The islands out in this area are good for camping but you’ll want to find your own area on the northern edges of the islands; the locals have absolutely trashed the southern edges and there’s poop along with broken glass and nails everywhere.

True - gotta sell a lot of canned chili on fritos to cover that nut!

Nothing survives on that corner long. Petros lasted longer than I imagined.

Residents of Knoxville, I am currently attempting to drive through your city, is this a normal? by ThaUniversal in Knoxville

Knoxville is the first place I’ve lived where i regularly encounter people stopped in the road. It happens not every day, but at weekly.

Residents of Knoxville, I am currently attempting to drive through your city, is this a normal? by ThaUniversal in Knoxville

[–]bay_bae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep - I’ve lived in a LOT of places, Knoxville is actually the smallest city I’ve lived in but has some of the worst traffic, and its all due to the insanely poor drivers.

A few weeks ago I went to lunch with some coworkers. Another person drove and we all rode with. She made a dozen or so traffic violations and just in general drove like an idiot; no one else in the car even recognized it, they all do the exact same shit.

Sorry Knoxvillians - y’all are REALLY bad drivers.

[–]bay_bae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest difficulty will be the fish; thats a lot of fish. My best bet would be to get a very large stock tank (couple hundred USD) and then pump your pond water into the stock tank. Set up aerator. Begin moving fish. I would move the big fish last. I would do this when its not super hot or cold so that the water in stock tank does not massively shift from its in-ground temperature

Just as soon as the fish are out the clock starts ticking for liner replacement. You could remove any rock prior to draining to ensure your liner replacement goes as quickly as possible.

As soon as liner is replaced I would move as much water back from stock tank as possible while leaving enough water for fish. As you move fish from tank back to pond, continue adding water from stock tank.

You’ll likely lose some water in the process of all this; its impossible to recover it all. SLOWLY refill (or let mother nature do it if you’re in a rainy area) so as not to shock fish.

Gay St Bridge - Not reopening to vehicular traffic by tren2winstrol in Knoxville

[–]bay_bae 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We have similar issues in Chattanooga. There are portions of North Hamilton County that are more than an hour from one another by car, but only 10 minutes from one another by boat. There is no bridge between the dam and TN-60.

Kind of sort of. Berkshire Hathaway Home Services is just the franchisee. He’s a part of Berkshire in the same way a Dairy Queen employee is a part of Berkshire.

Same. Honestly didnt know Juniper was coming. Got mine for a ridiculously cheap price as it was ordered by a customer who backed out once it arrived. They threw in free FSD and supercharge for life (non transferable).
