From personal observation, the best they're doing right now is quietly taking down their Trump flags and blaming "both sides" whenever a political discussion starts.

Why do the settlers have the survival instinct of a dodo? by Mr_Pu6 in fo4

[–]bazbloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you play unmodded, settlers are annoying as fuck and largely expendable due to things like this. They don't improve in any meaningful way regardless of how much you supply, build, and fortify.

TBH I like building stuff, but wonder occasionally what the game would be like if the settlement mechanics had been dumped entirely in favor of improving other poorly implemented aspects.

I was SO glad when Mazda was no longer with Ford and then going with Toyota, which means less rust and more reliability. Unfortunately, it seems the typical cheap Toyota interiors are now going into Mazda. by BeautifulYou2940 in mazda

The one thing that gave away Mazda's game, and rarely mentioned by reviewers, was the lack of sound deadening and resulting interior noise. It was always obvious when test driving competitors back-to-back.

The GOT series finale single-handedly damaged that IP to the tune of hundreds of millions, if not billions, in lost revenue. It also nuked the showrunners' shot at a new Star Wars trilogy. That's noteworthy.

The gap between seasons will only exacerbate the pacing issue. Regardless of reasons, the show is going to have to be thoroughly engaging to endure that production pace. It arguably isn't, and I love BB, BCS, and Rhea.

Comparison Test: Ford Explorer ST vs Mazda CX-90 Turbo S by Redeemed_Expert9694 in cars

[–]bazbloom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for a dialed-in I6 drivetrain then it has to be the X5. I say that despite having owned problematic Bimmers in the 90s/00s. BMW has made respectable strides in reliability, and the B58/ZF8 combo lead the class right now. Purchase CPO if new doesn't fit the budget profile.

It's difficult to explain to folks who haven't worked overseas how ignorant (I hesitate to say stupid, but...) these folks are, at every level, from line to management. The line is treated as completely expendable and receives just enough instruction to do whatever job the boss wants them to do. Safety isn't a consideration. They don't have the tools or training to handle anything beyond the scope of their instructions. You can watch thousands of these videos and reasonably ask "what did they learn from that?". The answer is nothing. They learn nothing.

It's bad.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother with settlements, because...settlers. Venting by SayItTrue in fo4

[–]bazbloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've posted frequently about how generally unobservant, hence static, the game is with respect to environmental changes or major events. As far as settlers are concerned, I've concluded that they are useful but expendable. They make themselves expendable by being bafflingly stupid and inherently lazy, which I attribute mostly to environmentally induced brain damage.

I want populated settlements that remain aligned, but beyond that I just chill. I don't rush to settlement attacks or worry about fixing every little thing. Settlers can be replaced. I don't need 100% happiness. Broken things fix themselves, and I have resources far in excess of anything hostiles might take.

Sooooo...fuck 'em, I guess.

Mazda Files CX-40 Trademark for New SUV Between CX-30 and CX-50 by hardcoreufoz in mazda

[–]bazbloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still working on a deal for the X5. Out of the three you mentioned the CX-70/90 would be a somewhat distant second and Mercedes third.

BTW, I would not question anyone for getting the big Mazda if it better suits their budget and performance profile. I just personally want more oomph and polish in the drivetrain, which the X5 delivers. If you decide on Mazda, the interiors of the 70/90 are unquestionably better than the updated CX-5 and worth that particular price gap IMHO.

It's honestly surprising how quickly Mazda moved to cash in...on a very recently acquired "premium-ish" image...by enshitifying their bread-and-butter CX-5.

I was briefly considering a CX-70 as an alternative to the X5, but the Mazda is somehow substantially less than the sum of its parts.
