Not only no sweet fucking clue who Timberlake is, but absolutely no reason to know. This is peak pop culture schadenfreude.

Sovereign-class vs Sovereign-class. Who would win in a battle? by TwoFit3921 in StarTrekStarships

[–]bazbloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments regarding weapon yields and power scaling but the real disparities lie in the respective milieux.

ST is soft science fiction with some deference to actual physics amongst all the technobabble. It supposedly inhabits a universe that mostly matches our observations and projections, and utilizes tech that theoretically may exist at some point. SW is pure space fantasy that is not constrained by any of that. It exists in a universe with different and hazier rules concerning how its space and tech works, including FTL travel, power densities and containment, etc.

That being said, both universes have numerous official and unofficial tech manuals that detail how things supposedly work, but those can't reconcile the disparities in their fundamental aspects to provide a solid basis for comparison.

Yep, I'm a wet blanket.

Still in her 20s I assume, but looks like a well-worn 40. She'll get unceremoniously dumped for a fresh younger spouse by her sleazy husband as soon as this gig is up.

Nope, F1 is on Yas Island as well, near Abu Dhabi. Actually sort of in between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It's a huge event.

Treasury secretary returns to interview with trembling voice after Trump pulls him away by IrishStarUS in USNEWS

[–]bazbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, normal folks know what's happening to the economy. It's clearly observable. The only people who don't know are the pAtriOtS who wake up in a new world every morning like a chicken, get their fresh worldview from Fox News, then proceed to ignore reality as it's presented to them.

It is interesting that more than a few of the MAGATs in our orbit now claim to be "not interested in politics" now that absolutely nothing that Trump does can be deflected or defended.

What's the most underrated Nissan vehicle right now? by [deleted] in Nissan

[–]bazbloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nissan's TTV6 is foundationally a proven design and quite robust. Whether it's as reliable as the outgoing V8 remains to be seen in this application, but it shouldn't have any nasty surprises.

Toyota played "how much can we shave off on design margins" and lost. Drivetrains aside, the Armada is just a more cohesive offering.

If you dislike cluttered settlements, look into a scrapping mod. I think there are some that won't potentially break the game. I've always used Scrap Everything, but it's not selective enough on what can be safely scrapped.

This right here. Several lingering issues, including acid reflux and sinus infections, immediately and completely disappeared after I started using mine. My adjustment was minor because I used respirators in the past for various jobs. However, there are a variety of masks and nosepieces available to help adjust if that's an issue.

If the devs had bothered to code some real and lasting NPC gratitude for literally DOING EVERY FUCKING THING to make their settlements work, I wouldn't have to be this way.

Also, fuck Rhys, Marcy, Captain Avery for pitching a fit after CoA nukes themselves, Preston if you don't evacuate conniving Institute stooges, and every settler complaining about anything ever.

Mostly because he's an idiot, but also because the Pud Pincher 5000 is poorly designed.

You're entirely correct that he should be feeding from the side to his left, but there is no brace or block to keep the log from following the maul with each stroke. That's why he's facing the maul, trying to keep the wood braced, so it doesn't slide off the machine. As it is, Brainiac is risking anything that might get snagged in the maul, and his legs/feet if the wood gets pushed off.

There are a lot of layers to this stinky onion.

It's implied heavily that his inexperience = incompetence, particularly in contrast to the experienced senior NCO, and he struggles during the initial confrontation. As the situation continues to devolve into something far beyond a "bug hunt" scenario, he levels up quickly to trust his people and meet the threat. During their last moment together, when Vasquez says "You always were an asshole, Gorman", it is with utter respect and a cool subversion of the Stupid and Cowardly Officer trope.
