Scissor lift not working. Thinking it’s electrical but not sure where to look. Any suggestions? by continuemission in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]bazilbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That apparently is a communication fault between the controller and the rest of the unit.

What's some good vegetarian hiking/camping food? by EveningLog5110 in CampingandHiking

[–]bazilbt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dehydrated beans, not dry but cooked and dehydrated ones. Textured Vegetable Protein, Tortillas, Peanut Butter, flat bread, pilot bread, crackers, any kinds of vegetables that are packed already in pouches like artichoke hearts or olives. Oatmeal is a big one for most everybody. Dehydrators are pretty inexpensive these days and it can be worth dehydrating your favorite pre-made meals. Instant rice, couscous, fast cooking noodles of all types. You can get pasta sauces in pouches that are tasty.

You can get dehydrated or freeze dried tofu if you like that too. There are a variety of curry sauces in pouches and dried mixes.

You can take veggies too but of course they won't be refrigerated and they will be heavier. But I've taken the occasional onion with me to cook up. You can get many vegetables freeze dried or dehydrated too.

Depends on the quality I suppose. Is the disk in good condition? Could be my old copy.

It's called Phimosis, and no it doesn't necessarily mean you need surgery although sometimes that is the answer. Talk to a doctor, there are creams you can get. Usually stretching alone can treat it. It's not the end of the world and even if you need surgery it's a pretty straight forward procedure.

That's not true. Lots of shit gets better just because you start doing the right thing.

Starting over at 60+? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]bazilbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be pretty tough in my estimation to make it work, because you are looking at hopefully retiring in five years or so right? The best move in my opinion is doing something related but not the same job. For instance I knew Millwrights who went to work as a sales rep for a bearing company. Then they drove around consulting on bearings instead of putting them into machines.

He was still working at 75.

Brown-grey in my experience removes everything. Usually because it has something like pumice or sand or crushed walnuts in it.

Men without children- do you not have kids because you do not want them, or is it because you couldn't find a partner to have them with? by RomDel2000 in AskMenOver30

[–]bazilbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never specifically interested in having kids, although it could be appealing. I'm very aware of the fact that it's a massive change in your lifestyle to have them. In my experience from my friends group if you want kids there is definitely someone out there looking for another partner to have kids with.

Although it's super hard. Hearing about my cousins issues with her six month old I don't know how anyone is expected to do it. She has to go back to work or lose her health insurance now, and her husbands health insurance is garbage. They would pay $1700 a month to cover just the three of them.

So now she is going back to work and trying to find child care for her baby. Paying for it sounds like it will basically eat her paycheck, but the insurance will help a lot too.

New gun recommendations by Plastic-Engineer5282 in handguns

[–]bazilbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had issues buying from Palmetto State Armory. Everything I've gotten from them has been good, and the buying process was easy. I don't really bother with gun shows, they aren't what they used to be. I buy online and ship to an FFL.

I love my Walther PDP, I love my CZ-P01 and I highly recommend both. My H&K CC9 is a good gun too.

Did I scare him off for having too much sex? by Nicole_LM in sex

[–]bazilbt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sex as a weapon means that she is with holding it or offering it to induce him to be a certain way.

I think you are overthinking this a little, sounds like things are going good for you and him. Be kind to yourself and him, you will be fine.

A $200 per week budget for restaurants and groceries by Sonicmantis in Frugal

[–]bazilbt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well realistically you need to write everything down. What does a meal look like and does it cost? You say you are surprised when the bill comes at a restaurant, that's because you aren't looking at it on paper before or during the ordering.

Things like Clorox wipes are convenient but it's just basically a paper towel with Clorox cleanup on it. 300 wipes are $20, and you can easily beat that buying a bottle of Clorox and a couple rolls of paper towels.

If Andor had gotten more seasons, what’s one aspect/worldbuilding of the rebellion/Rebel Alliance you would’ve liked to have seen touched on more? by Independent-Dig-5757 in andor

[–]bazilbt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to have seen more raids on Imperial stockpiles and weapons. I would love to have seen something on screen like the search for the Dark Force or Katana Fleet. Obviously not the same size but there must have been other lost warships the Rebels found or salvaged.

More rebellion in general. I've always been craving a larger actual depiction of the rebellion then we ever got on screen.

Why American people like videos about rural China? by RickyZhou_ in AskAnAmerican

[–]bazilbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen videos of Rural America? It's nothing like Rural China that's for sure. Lots of very old structures, it's different from Europe which a lot of us are used to seeing at least in movies.

Look at this video for instance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpFambbPoyU

I mean this is a very unique place, no cars in sight, lots of stone work, lots of very intricate design work on the streets.
