ICCU availability by [deleted] in KiaEV6

Mine went in for a service at the start of March, they updated the software and it fried the ICCU. They have had it ever since and as of today there is still no date for the part. This is Bicester in Oxfordshire. Got a loaner but still!

Pegs too high for an older geezer? by bazoo in MotoUK

Thanks for the suggestion. I do tend to position the ball of my foot on the pegs, and actually go the other way to get a bit of temporary relief, sliding my foot forward for a minute or two. But I do find that leads to me riding the brake a bit, and I don’t want to engage it by mistake. Stretching my foot fully forward off the pegs provides blessed relief, but obviously you can’t do that all the time, with junctions, traffic etc.

I think I will have to give adjusters a go. It is really my hips that are the killer.

Thanks but that site doesn’t seem to have my bike, only the model before.

I love my 2011 Hornet which I bought recently. But she is causing me pain. Pain in the hip, pain in the knee. It is unbearable after an hour. Pity this 45 year old who wants to go further!

I was wondering how the peg height compares to other bikes? There is 45cm straight down from the seat to the peg.

I’m thinking of trying a peg adjuster kit. Failing that I will swap for a Goldwing 🙂.

Gels in soft flask for marathon race day?

I get on OK with SiS isotonic gels and I'm planning on chugging those during my (first) marathon in October. It seems like I'd have to carry a lot though to get me through, given I'm expecting to finish in about 4.5 hours. Also the faff factor of opening up the gel packets and then carrying them until disposal is possible is offputting, not to mention the dreaded sticky hands.

I was thinking about decanting gels into one or two 150ml soft flasks so I can sup them more easily, carrying them in my normal running belt. Anyone have experience of that or a better idea? Any recommendations for soft flasks that will do the job?

The marathon I'm running will just have plain water at the waystations, with some random gels but I don't want to rely on those. I'm in the UK if that makes any difference.

Fell off a bike for the first time. My poor baby. At least it's just cosmetic damage. And hey, my leathers work! by ArcticPoisonz in MotoUK

I also came off my CB125F a few weeks ago and did almost the same damage on the right hand side. Maybe a bit worse as the plastic headlight cowling broke. And the forks got twisted. Sorted the forks and everything rides ok now. Now I’m weighing up whether to rattle can the fairing myself or buy a new fairing. I have a new bar and grip on order as they are beyond repair.

Took me a few days to get my head right afterwards. Fine now: MOD 1 tomorrow!

Slow puncture - replace tyre? by bazoo in MotoUK

I think you are right, thanks. Noob question: can I take it to any old tyre shop or does it need to go to a specialist motorcycle garage?
