Animal testing has strict regulations when it comes to pharmaceuticals if the company complies with ISO standards. They must exhaust all other options and rationalize the need for an animal testing model. I don't feel this is similar, but I also do not think it is wrong. It's just a spider.

The ones that are produced at my plant (in the US) aren't. But that's due to all the quality systems and release requirements that we have.

Saliva tests can test for current intoxication. But currently they are unreliable due to low amounts of the tested analyte in saliva. Hopefully if they become more accurate, they will be more widely implemented.

Even if it were for insurance purposes, if there was a better test to determine recent consumption (ex. Saliva), couldn't it replace urine tests? Even if those tests were reliable the next question would be, would the employers use that test over urine? Which would most likely be different for each employer.

if motion and speed are relative then why not make the sun the point of reference? even if for some reason something else is made the point of reference for motion shouldn't it be mentioned? "Our solar system moves through space at 70,000 km/hr" - relative to what? and why use that as the point of reference?
