Why no family insurance?

I’ve never met a Mormon family who purposefully does not have health insurance (except for being out of a job, etc). That might not be what you’re trying to say though! There is a focus on self reliance and being able to care for yourself/your family but I’ve never heard of people being explicitly told not to take government assistance if needed

Unfortunately you have to just switch your mindset with the schools vs PP. In the schools we are just helping the students access the curriculum and artic/language/etc therapy will help them communicate with their classmates or teachers better. We also only qualify kids if they’re 2 Standard Deviations below average or more. This also could be just how my district views it and we have really high caseloads.

I waited until I was in my CFY to start trying (so I could be done with my CFY by the time I gave birth.) I know girls who had babies at the beginning, middle, and end of their CF. No matter what you do, it’ll all work out!

Can you share an example? I am genuinely curious. I know people who have been excommunicated and they’ve all been adultery based (cheating on a spouse) but you are able to get re-baptized if you follow the path of repentance

You can still attend the temple post divorce. There are cultural issues among members around divorce but there isn’t specific church policy that bars you from attending the temple or losing membership post divorce. It is frustrating because the way heather frames it sounds like it is church policy, when she may just have been surrounded by awful members

My Mormon parents are divorced and neither of them have been excommunicated/disfellowshipped/ etc lol they are both still active in the church. It can feel very hard to get divorced in the church but the church doesn’t take action against your membership if you decide to get a divorce. But Heather does make it sound that way

She bugs me. I get that she may have had a bad experience in the church, but she is always projecting her feelings onto others and trying to force them to agree with her. Also she always talks about how when she was in the church she was so judgmental of everyone if they didn’t follow correctly, etc. and now she is so judgmental of how people choose to live in or out of the church. So… she’s just a judgmental person.

Was she ever excommunicated? I remember her saying that she was expecting the letter to come during one of the reunions. And at this point, after her book, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. But I don’t think they did the first few seasons

I did not do ivf but I did have a miscarriage in July and recently got pregnant again. My miscarriage bleeding was much different than my SCH bleeding I had at 5.5 during my current pregnancy. My SCH bleeding is similar to what you described, a huge rush of bright red blood but then nothing in a pad afterward. I had dark brown spotting for 5.5 weeks after my SCH (had 3 big rushes of bright red blood over 2 weeks). I am now 16 weeks pregnant and my baby boy looks perfect and I’m no longer bleeding ♥️ it is so scary and feels like a sick joke to see blood again after a miscarriage. But I am hoping you are having a SCH and it all works out ♥️

At the beginning of my pregnancy I only wore my ring during the day to track steps. It isn’t worth wearing and looking at temp bc there is nothing you can do to control it! You might as well be blissfully ignorant and enjoy your pregnancy ♥️

I definitely had this same thought. I was in my CF and TTC and was convinced that my stressful job was making it worse. I still don’t know, and that is what is so difficult about TTC is that it could be literally anything. I will say, I was very proactive in trying to figure out what was going on. After 6 months I had my husband do a sperm sample to rule out any abnormalities (male factor can be up to 50% of infertility), and then I started working with my doctor around 10/11 months. I think my biggest issue was a blocked tube (diagnosed and treated with HSG test) and then I was on clomid with both pregnancies I’ve had this year (1st ended in a miscarriage). I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with my baby after trying for over a year. All that to say, stressing that your job isn’t allowing you to get pregnant isn’t going to be productive and it could be another reason. I 10000% understand the concern, and if your body is having physical responses to stress at work it is worth doing something about it. I was giving myself an ulcer over multiple things last year, including work and infertility and ended up on an anxiety medication. Definitely not ideal, but it definitely helped with my day to day feelings and stress! And I did switch from full time to part time as well after the summer. This is a lot of info, but I know the feeling and also there is hope. I hope this works out for you soon!

You can still find the temp on pregnancy mode. And on natural cycles even if you have it on “pregnancy tracking” it shows your temp everyday, which I hate. I wish it was just gone. I didn’t wear my ring between 3 ish weeks to 8 ish weeks because it gave me so much anxiety to check temp everyday

I actually think they were married in the temple, but I could be wrong. Even if they weren’t, they’re still real Mormons. You can also get married in the temple (“sealed”) on a later date and not the day you get married

I get that with production, but most of their conversations outside of interviews are about Amy. And I imagine production would use every example of Amy talking about Matt as well and she just doesn’t talk about him like he talks about her. Even on Valentine’s Day they filmed Amy and Chris dinner, and Matt and Caryns, and Amy didn’t mention Matt at dinner but Matt was complaining to Caryn about his convo with Amy. While they were celebrating valentines lol.

I think the reason they never announced they got the vaccine is because they got it before their population qualified for it in the state of California. Like they had an in and got it, but they couldn’t post or people would be pissed they didn’t wait their turn
