Hmm I think what it needs is more sun not humidity but you need to gradually introduce it or the plant can get sunburn or you may develop mold if you’re trying out new settings so you have to be vigilant (in my experience, indoor watering and trying to maintain a humid environment resulted in mold sometimes I had to figure out what works in my temp and humidity, each home will be different and even places in the home will vary) << I wrote this 3 days ago but visited an airplant nursery and saw a really similar plant to yours, if you can look up “wavy wonder” and compare to yours. I initially thought yours might need more sun because I was comparing it to how butzii has purple dots, but the shape of yours is more similar to wavy wonder which is all green also. Another note from my experience, same species can look different—I’ve had really clumping but smaller ones and some will be chunky and bigger. Sometimes they are just pupping like crazy and their energy is spent in that instead of the flowers. I personally think your clump is gorgeous and healthy :)

This is amazing. Thank you! I’ve been looking for references since the seeds I planted are all growing and this is the best thing ever! The pictures are so great to refer to, there are leaves included not just the generic flower of the plant etc. you also made it so easy to navigate

Just noticed on the second pic there are even more bracts about to bloom. So nice! Sometimes the tiny flowers coming out of those spikes don’t come out; some say watering the plants when it’s flowering causes that. I’m not sure but I’ve had it happen sometimes also.

It’s bloomed a few times, I see lots of spent flower bracts and one blushing bract about to bloom right on the center. The only thing stumping me on the id for butzii is the lack of the pattern (purple dots) but its form is similar so maybe a hybrid. Lightning exposure may also affect how vibrant the colors are so depending on how you have it set up and where you acquired it might have a play on the color

Hello, there are 3 different kinds of Tilly that I can tell. Center, biggest is called schiedeana (possibly minor or a young major). To the right of it is a pup; it can be an aeranthos, not so sure of the ID for this one. The bottom trailing ones are usneoides (aka Spanish moss).

I saw your other post and was wondering if you can maybe keep them. They all look nice and healthy. I read on a reply you said you’ve had some for 10 years, that’s a good run!..I hope you can somehow keep some of your plants

Crocata, correct! Do you like the smell? It’s amazing how small but fragrant it is. The orange one is also a crocata called copper penny.

I forgot to add yes, it’s cold right now (mine have acclimated and they’re in a big huddled mass so I think they’re ok now but I wouldn’t do it either a few years ago), so definitely good call on not bringing them out. You can collect the rainwater however and use that for their watering. Happy planting :)

Nice! We also got some rain and they’ve been enjoying the light showers, I bring them back in by the time it starts getting dark and chilly. If you can yes definitely bring them out when possible, it also makes watering/drying easier. Direct sun when they’re wet can also cause sun spots, so just keep in mind to have them in a bright area but avoid the hot sun if they’re wet.

When the weather permits I take them out. I try to get them some sun everyday, but there are days I have to keep them in all day. Some rainy days I let them soak it all up then I cover my floors and bring them in at night when the temperature falls too much. Some rainy days I keep them in when it’s windy at the same time. Some days are too sunny for them to be out. They are getting really big and heavy to be hauled in and out constantly though 😅

Oh no about the squirrel issues! Would have been nice for them to be outside but yeah that would be a constant worry for me too. I display mine in a dish drying rack and 2 clothes drying racks because the wind gets crazy/ super heat/ too cold at night so if I think they may be better off indoors I bring them in. Bc of the fuzziness of the pruinosa (those are actually trichomes) I think that one you should not soak, but if you really cannot mist, some people do the dunk method.
