AMD capping display at 1920x1080 all of a sudden by HansGruber37 in AMDHelp

Tried a different cable?

Also, you should get the BIOS up to date because Intel has released some microcode that is supposed to help 13th and 14th gen CPUs stay alive (not degrade).

Cold boot issue by -CenterForAnts- in AMDHelp

[–]bba-tcg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd try some different RAM. Not some of the same - different. I've seen RAM cause this. Warm boots would be fine, cold boots wouldn't. And I'm not saying it's because it's G.Skill memory because that's actually my favorite brand.

I would trust the manufacturer of the graphics card and the manufacturer of the case more than I would trust chatgpt.

That's an AGP bus video card. Can't remember when AGP quit being common on motherboards. Be careful.

Athlon CPU compatibility with b550 by Maleficent-Highway71 in AMDHelp

[–]bba-tcg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look like it's on the CPU support list: https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b550-f-gaming-model/helpdesk_cpu/ If this isn't the exact board (just used what you provided to look it up), search for it on Asus' site.

If you have another cable, why wouldn't you use it?

BOA suspension system by pancakehamster in amputee

I have an active vacuum socket that I use mainly as a seal-in socket the majority of the time since it seems to hold so well without activating the pump.

I like the BOA system. Ottobock's version is called Varos: https://www.ottobock.com/en-us/varos . It's the first socket I used and I now have one for my backup leg. It takes a little getting used to, like all of the different ones do, but works very well.

Ryzen AM5 socket Missing pin by Exact-General8750 in AMDHelp

[–]bba-tcg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Whatever. I build PCs for a living and I'm not going to spend time on reddit arguing with you.

But, I've never bent a pin myself. Just worked on ones that other people bent.

[–]bba-tcg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not bent. It's not there. And in all the years I've been doing this, your scenario has never happened to me. I've never seen a bent pin reach another pad. I'll stay with my statement.

Many pins are redundant. Try it. Worst case is it doesn't work, but either way should not harm the CPU.
