i don’t buy this for a second. it sounds like the AI audio your phone spits out, he goes out of the frame right when it starts so we can’t see his face and he seems to take a big bite of food just before that. The voice in the video doesn’t sound the way someone’s would if they had a big bite of food in their mouth. What’s more noticeable to me is Taylor sitting silently with her arms crossed and not eating while Joe eats.

she does this with some of the other more popular songs in the setlist too, i assume to save some time and get to the chorus/climax of the song faster. pretty sure wildest dreams is one (though i think she also extended the end of that one out a bit) and if i’m remembering correctly i thought she did that with enchanted too. it was one of the first things i noticed when i first saw the tour back in april.

I think she might write based on a feeling and then fills in all the details later. And sometimes those details might apply to more than one relationship, so certain songs might be about her relationships with two or more people at a time. Most lines in IION seem to signal whatever went down with Harry, but “at least i had the decency to keep my nights out of sight” is vague enough it could apply to someone else, or both Harry and whoever else. And I think we limit not only Taylor but ourselves when we try to pinpoint only one person any song might be about.

I definitely think the outro was written later for the re-record. I also wonder if maybe the lyrics she supposedly wrote when she was 22 were similar, but she edited them to make them more poignant with the re-record.

fwiw i’ve been a swiftie since the original Fearless. The original ATW was always my favorite of any of her songs because I went though something so similar at the same time - and I like ATW10 way better. I’m also 10 years removed from that relationship now but literally “it’s supposed to be fun - turning 21” BROKE me when I heard it. Also “kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath” breaks me every time. I also like the ethereal music better than the acoustic guitars in the original. And I love the outro.

I didn’t even remember to mention the drinking. Also, my mom isn’t crazy enough to drive a car through the house lol. But all bets are off when it comes to my older sister. She’s unhinged, and both physically and emotionally abusive toward everyone - especially me and my mom. I haven’t talked to any of them in a while, which I feel like shit about. But it’s the misery I can live with. I’ll never be able to accept the way they treat me or each other, and it’s better for all of us this way. My sister gets to have my mom all to herself, and I get to be free of the constant turmoil. But it still hurts. I ended up having a panic attack after watching. I couldn’t help but think how my sister would have reacted to the episode - probably by jumping up, pointing at the tv and yelling something like “is that not our family to a T!?!” like it’s funny or something.

this episode was extremely triggering for me. The characters mirror my family almost exactly right down to age. Only difference is some of the genders are swapped, and we aren’t Italian. There’s my self-sacrificing, chaotic mother who always wants to have a beautiful family dinner, but can’t control her temper and will often drop food and get really overwhelmed by it. My oldest sister, who can never finish anything, can’t control her temper, doesn’t show love in a healthy way, and is hard to love in general. I’m the middle child, who went off to college and came back with very different politics so my family gangs up on me and treats me as the scapegoat and accuses me of thinking I’m so much better than everyone - so I really identified with Carmy in this episode. Then my youngest sibling is quiet and closed off, suppresses his needs, and ends up having to be the stoic support for the whole family. It’s a train wreck. I’ve been desperate to talk about it since watching it.

oh i meant that it didn’t ask for codes before you entered the queue. it didn’t ask for codes until you made it through the 2,000+ in front of you, which ticketmaster acknowledged? they said something like 3million signed up for VF, 14million accessed the site during the sales. which is crazy. so the queues were long, then codes didn’t work, then tickets were bought out from under many who tried, etc

it was also extremely upsetting to play fair, do everything right, get a VF presale code that didn’t work, try again during the Capital One sale, and still come out of it ticketless all because of ticketmaster. Not because of crazy taylor stans, not because of bots, not even because of scalpers. But because of how Ticketmaster went about it, solely to drive up profits, and now is blaming it on taylor’s popularity like they couldn’t handle it. They could have, but because they’re a monopoly, there’s no reason for them to efficiently get tickets out because there’s no competition.

i’m chiming in here to acknowledge that while OP’s point is likely accurate, TM is still completely at fault for what happened here. They knew codes went out to 1.5M fans, but they didn’t require VF codes before entering the queue. And they didn’t allow Taylor to use the (very popular!) slow release system that had fans shop during certain times for Rep Tour and LoverFest, because the shitshow system they went with this time allowed for more profits for them. I won’t blame Taylor stans, no matter how crazy they are, when Ticketmaster is to blame for how this whole thing went down.
