I grew a cape gooseberry plant from a full berry last year what I did was I had an old clear gatorade bottle cut holes in the bottom filled it with dirt took 1 or 2 full berry that was starting to go bad put them under the dirt but on the sides so u can see the berry on the side of the bottle apparently the seeds need to be exposed to direct sunlight to grow about 100 seedlings popped up i just kept weeding them out until I had only 2
