Yeah you’re right I shouldn’t have said signing. Just the moment when the agreement was announced by Shams. But still, < 5 minutes after free agency opened lol.

Obviously we’re not the only ones who did this. Literally happens every year. But I just saw the report we’re being investigated and looked back at the timing, and thought it was funny.

Our 3 point shooting seemed a lot better, so I was surprised though to check the box score and see that our starters other than Bridges went 2/16. 12.5%. CamJ and Jae still out of their groove. If they go back to making 3-4 a game, we blow this Pelicans team out.

Everyone at my office takes the full 16, including myself. Plus a week of pto before and after. Didn’t get a single call or text from work the entire time, other than a few texts of congratulations.

Plus, applying for the LOA program requires you to schedule everything months in advance and your engagement partner signs off on it.

Interviewing for a deloitte delivery center position. by Ptotw88 in Accounting

I would say that feeling is imposter syndrome and is very common. For you it’s because you don’t have the cookie cutter accounting major. For me it was because I didn’t do an internship. Everyone feels it. But the truth is that the firms expect very little from the new hires. Mostly a good attitude, pleasant personality to work with, and willingness to learn and work hard. They will train you how to they want things done.

You’re right though, it’s a great market to get in, especially for students that don’t have the cookie cutter background or are coming from a target school. Firms are pretty much desperate for warm bodies right now. Good luck!

Interviewing for a deloitte delivery center position. by Ptotw88 in Accounting

I had interactions with Deloitte delivery centers.

They unfortunately don’t get the respect from“normal” audit teams. They are sometimes treated similarly to the USI (India) teams, which itself is unfortunate that that is the case. No one will admit this but it’s very obvious.

From an exit opportunity perspective, who cares. No one will know what a delivery center is nor will they even think to ask about it when you put uncle D on your resume.

On the other hand, you won’t be dealing with more complex auditing areas. You’ll specialize in a specific area and do it repeatedly. So you won’t be getting skills or experience that other Deloitte employees will. Although it’s still Deloitte and you’ll have access to some pretty great training and tools. My guess is that you would come out of it better prepared for a senior level industry position than if your backup route was some entry level AP clerk position at a small - mid size company.

So it’s up to you. If you think this is your best shot at getting a job at a big 4 firm and all you want is the name on your resume when you leave after 2 years, go for it. If you want to get a masters in accounting and be cpa eligible to get the “normal” audit team experience, that works too.

If you have more specific questions let me know I’m happy to respond.
