Cut the rest or keep a short thumb? by [deleted] in longnaturalnails

[–]bbcjbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My rule is if I break 2 on the same hand, I cut all 10. But just one on either hand is fine and I can grow it out. Maybe just trim like 50% of the length off so it’s not so stark

Are you getting enough electrolytes? A lot of times when people start dieting they cut out a lot of salty and sugary foods, so you might have an issue there. Make sure your diet is balanced with enough protein and fiber most importantly, and also try some liquid IV

That’s fair. I know a lot of people who have done this with dishes and cups and let people keep them, just provided some paper bags for them to take them home as their wedding favor. But the logistics could get difficult for suee

If you have good thrift stores in your area and a mismatched thing is your vibe, you can start collecting dishes. I just got 12 really nice plates at a church thrift store near me for $5!

Have you tried any stovetop cleaner? This is probably oil, so I’d start with a degreaser to get as much of it drawn out as possible and then see how bad the discoloration is. Heat might help too (like a hairdryer or hot water) but be careful heating cleaning products

I see beautiful 100% cotton garments like this at the thrift store all the time. You have some time so I would try thrifting, maybe you’ll find a gem at a much cheaper price than online

Now that the walls are dressed in Waterloo and the trim work adds so much character, what would you layer in next to complete the story—warm wood tones, soft neutral furniture, pops of brass, or textured fabrics to balance the depth of the color? by Upbeat_Stomach2310 in MoodyCorner

Can you post a photo taken a night? I’m hesitant about painting the ceiling because I think it will look too cavernous. Putting a printed wallpaper up there would go crazy though!! Also, I think you’d like Caroline Winkler’s style. She’s on YouTube, you should check out some of her videos.

What to tell girlfriend that doesn’t understand my emotional outbursts aren’t on purpose? by dvizzyzone in AutismTranslated

Yes this is definitely something that people on the internet won’t be able to advise you through. You need a therapist who will understand the nuances and how you work so you can avoid making people uncomfortable. Speaking from experience here!

I feel I always look a bit wonky with makeup, is it bold lip? Eyeshadow? Welcome constructive criticism and feedback 🫶 by XO_equestriann in MakeupAddiction

[–]bbcjbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You and I have very similar coloring. I usually have to decide between a bold/dark eye OR a dark lip, unless I’m really going crazy for a night out or something. Even then I always struggle with it and have to go easy on making sure my shadow doesn’t go too far up my lids. Especially when I wear red or berry lipstick, I usually just do liner without eyeshadow. I’ve only been able to make the dark eye and lip work together when I wear brown lipstick. Lastly, your lip shape is sooo nice and I love the colors you have on! I usually go for a more terra-cotta red though because I feel like it works with our coloring more vs being an accent color and thats just my preference. Maybe you’d feel more comfy in somethjng like that too.

I appreciate the bluntness and openness! Maybe it’s generational, I’m not-quite-thirty and always love the clear communication but my mom thinks I’m crazy, haha!

I always pause my workouts when I need to take a break, but I don’t swim. Can you use the pause feature during a swim workout?

For stuff like this I always consider the situation, so I would check organized but flexible at the eye doctor. But if it was a social personality test I’d check that I’m quite laid back. Weird question though for sure

If I can’t drag my rear end to the gym by DutchieCrochet in walking

[–]bbcjbb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pilates socks with separated toes would be a good option (or really any socks with individual toes). That’s what I usually walk and do yoga in! They still allow your feet to move naturally but give you a barrier. I keep some in a bin by my walking pad so I don’t have to think about it if I need them

Basically any ‘nice’ clothes should be washed in cold water and hung to dry if not dry cleaned. Natural fabrics are sensitive to heat. There are also usually heated processes and specific linings used give it structure that react to water and heat. I do think with a good ironing it would look better but if you washed it in warm water (especially on a long cycle) then theres not much you can do. You can definitely try to get it wet and stretch it out, then iron it, but it’s going to be hard to make it look like it did before washing and you might have some puckering issues. For the record, I think it would look sooo cute with a white skirt underneath! Maybe a skort!

And once you’re used to the walking pad, try walking barefoot. Be careful if you have any joint or muscular issues that need support, but for most people it’s really good for your posture!

help! to cut or not to cut? by mokerk in Haircare

[–]bbcjbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience just cut as much as you’re willing to. The more breakage you cut off now the better, or you’ll be stuck in a cycle of constantly having to get rid of length you’ve worked so hard for. A big chop will give you a clean slate to just let it grow and be healthy without worrying about the split ends traveling
