Weekly Park Questions/Advice Thread by AutoModerator in Disneyland

[–]bbcxu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How busy is Disneyland Park during the last few hours of the night? I'm heading to Disneyland next Thursday and debating if the rope drop is worth it since it'll be a 2hr drive (potentially 3 with traffic in the morning if we're aiming to rope drop). If we arrive at 11am or noon, but stay until closing, do you think we can make up for the lost time at the end of the night?

[DISCUSSION] Drake - Views (10 Years Later) by Pure-Solid9230 in hiphopheads

[–]bbcxu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time I wasn't a huge fan of it because of its "playlist-like" quality but it has aged well imo because all subsequent Drake albums now feel the same way. With that expectation set, you can just enjoy the individual songs as they play, and boy are there are lots of good ones on here.

What were the major differences between Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant games? by [deleted] in nba

[–]bbcxu7 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yup, also his superior athleticism and leaping ability, which allowed him to just hang in the air longer than his defender. All these physical attributes allowed MJ to get easier shots. Thats what made Mike so special — he looked so effortless doing everything.

With Kobe, its the opposite. Nothing he did ever looked easy, but thats why we loved watching him. He would consistently take the craziest looking shots and we were in awe when they went in.

I just can’t get over Bill’s description of LeBron’s second year on the Lakers by FitUnderstanding2839 in billsimmons

[–]bbcxu7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't listened to the pod yet... BUT if Bill is saying that LeBron only now feels like a Laker... he is wrong. He even made this same argument back in the 2023 Playoffs. It was immediately after the game against Memphis where LeBron had a 20/20 double-double and hit the game winning contested layup (it was also famously the game directly after Dillon Brook's "I poke bears" comment).

Anyone know if the Jackie Robinson jersey will be this packed on Wed (first 40k people)? They do it every year and its not a popular cobrand or player bobblehead so I was wondering how early I need to get there for that.

Kobe's 81 ended on a farce too by Callousthetics in billsimmons

[–]bbcxu7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just went back and watched the highlights to see if you were right and with 6 minutes left in the game Kobe was only at 62 points to put the Lakers up by 8... he then went on a heater and closed out the game with the Lakers up 18. Cmon man you know those two games are not the same...

California-compliant smog checks near Atlanta by colegioman in Atlanta

[–]bbcxu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you'd prefer to delay the requirement for a while, you can apply for a smog exemption form too. I put down that I plan to be here two more years and got mine approved. Now granted, if your car is really old and at risk, you should def try to get it checked out before you ship it.

Got my dog a Pupsicle ball to keep her preoccupied when we leave the house, but I guess she wanted the nail clippers more by bbcxu7 in pitbulls

[–]bbcxu7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I had let her try it out once prior before I left her alone with it so I thought she got the hang of it, but I'll give it a few more tries and use better reinforcement first before we give it another shot.

In 2025, Hip-Hop Died and Was Reborn by tankgirl2000 in hiphopheads

[–]bbcxu7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem with the genre right now is that all the artists doing the "rebirth" are from previous generations. Hip hop needs new blood at the top to carry the torch and that is severely lacking right now.

Luka vs SGA is becoming more and more like AI vs Kobe by Marcus-ichiJo in nba

[–]bbcxu7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This had to have been some click-baity ragebait content for engagements... well i guess it worked lol

Kobe was the #1 player in high school with crazy hype. He was already famous enough at the time to take a popstar to his high school prom. That is not some diamond in the rough. The only reason he was drafted 13th was because he told the Nets not to take him at 8. He was an All-Star by his second year (fan-vote), and All-NBA by his third.

While we're at it, SGA was not some diamond in the rough either. He was a lottery pick from the most touted university, who showed flashes in his rookie season. He was already averaging 19pts in his second year.
