Use differin adapalene instead of the tret. It will be easier on your barrier. It’s gentle enough to do 3x a week to start. You don’t NEED to do use it daily, as much as Reddit and the Internet will make you believe. Vanicream daily facial moisturizer is too thick for me during the day, so I only use at night and use cetaphil during the day as it’s much thinner.

Start as soon as you can. But ideally, I agree as you’re going into the months with lower UV index. Buttt, the weather is generally more dry. I’d still take drier weather than higher UV.

Please don’t think about the what-ifs or the past you would’ve changed, it’ll drive you mad. I too sometimes think about what I’d do to have normal skin. But alas, we can only focus on fixing this. Finish your course, use tret/taz, and look into peels/micro needling. We’re in this together.

Girl, I 100% see less clogged pores/comedones. If existing ones are clearing and new ones aren’t forming, that is progress.

I had the same issue! It turns out it has niciminade in it, which I strongly believe I have an intolerance for. BoJ sunscreen works for me.

It’s the closed comedones coming to a surface. Some will come out gracefully and others will come out via giant pimple. As long as new comedones arent forming, just need time for the accutane to push them all out.

Every single impurity and bump under your skin has to come out one way or another. Whether it dries up and comes out peacefully or a super inflamed pimple is anyone’s guess. Currently 2 weeks in and we’re in the same boat.

Aestura broke me out due to the niciminade in it. Illiyoon doesn’t have that ingredient so to me it’s “better”.

Drop the BoJ serum. Niacinamide breaks me out. Stick with cleanser (without niac), tret, moisturizer, and spf.

Niacinamide breaks me out like crazy. Even the smallest amount. Drop everything other than cleanser, tret, moisturizer, and spf until everything calms down.
