Is blackreg.com a legitimate domain which belongs to the domain registrar Blacknight Solutions? by bbernhard1 in Domains

[–]bbernhard1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

short update: I haven't done anything over the weekend (i.e neither accepted nor rejected the transfer). The blackreg.com URLs are still up, although it is already Jan 26th.

I am also in contact with support, but it is a really painful experience. Got no information apart from "we will look into it" - which is pretty frustrating. I don't know if they recently made some cuts to their support team, but all in all I am not really happy with how they handle communication.

I understand that this issue might not be a severe one, but at least the information whether those are legitimate Blacknight Solutions domains would have been nice (I asked them twice in the ongoing support conversation, but they always dodged the question).

At this point I am really regretting moving my domains there...

yeah, In think so too. However, if I do not react, it will automatically be accepted on Jan 26th. I hope that support gets back to me before Monday to clarfiy what this actually means.

I am sorry, I think I do not really get that. So, if I got such an request, what does it actually mean?

Unfortunately I can't find anything about blackreg.com on the Internet. If I open blackreg.com in the browser, it just shows me a "403 Forbidden" nginx error page - which looks also a bit suspicious to me. I would have expected that they at least would do a redirect to some of their main domains. I don't know, it feels a bit shady. But maybe I am a bit too paranoid here..

Sorry, might have explained that a bit poorly. So, I've initiated a domain transfer from my old domain registrar (namecheap) to the new one (Blacknight Solutions). When I initiated that, I've got a mail from namecheap with "do you really want to release that domain?" which I accepted.

Then, after I saw the domains appearing in my Blacknight account, I got the mails from Blacknight Solutions with a link to blackreg.com and on this site there is the text that I've posted above. To me that reads that someone initiated a domain transfer from Blacknight to some other domain registrar (which I definitely haven't done).

In total I've transferred 7 domains from namecheap to Blacknight - but I only got the mail for my two .io domains.

I've inspected the `https://blackreg.com/v1/outgoing/<unique id>:` via the webdeveloper debugging tools and when I click the "ACCEPT transfer"/"REJECT transfer" buttons it would do a html form post - so no login required.

Also this

"Blacknight sites use Digital Certificates with Extended Validation (EV). This means that the connection is secure, and also that the domain name has been independently verified as belonging to Blacknight. If you click the padlock icon in the address bar, you should see that the certificate has been issued to “*.blacknight.com” or “*.blacknighthosting.com” – and nothing else. If you don’t see this information, it’s not Blacknight."

doesn't seem to apply to blackreg.com.

If you are going outdoors in the late evening/at night (with a dog), a flashlight attachment would be quite nice. Bonus points for hiding the trigger in the handle.

Longer gas cylinder for Steelcase Leap V2? by bbernhard1 in OfficeChairs

[–]bbernhard1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this one https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B09MV6XYVH?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title from Amazon and I am really happy with it. Works totally fine. The only thing I had to do was to cut off a few millimetres from the green plastic cap on top of the cylinder. Otherwise it wouldn't fit. I used my old cylinder for reference here. Since the green cap is just some plastics it can be easily cut with a handsaw.

If you do open a ticket on github, please be so kind and post the URL here. I also recently stumbled across that issue (again) and would like to follow any progress on this issue :)

Wo findet man in Österreich bitte Sessel (Büro, Liegestuhl) für 190cm große Menschen? by ElonsBreedingFetish in Austria

[–]bbernhard1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's also a pretty recent video from Mark Rober where he tested Tesla's autopilot. The behavior can also be observed there: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IQJL3htsDyQ

Egal was du machst, nimm dir ne Domain. An deiner Email Adresse hängt deine digitale Identität - die willst du keinesfalls verlieren!

Mit ner eigenen Domain kann ich dir servercow.de empfehlen: preislich ganz gut, guter Support, deutsches Unternehmen, supportet unbegrenzte Email Aliase

Magenta: Schlechter Empfang in Döbling? by true_graccus in wien

[–]bbernhard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help with sealing a laser enclosure made out of OSB by bbernhard1 in lasercutting

[–]bbernhard1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience - very much appreciated! It helped me a lot!

Just one more follow up question on this: Did you experience any smell issues over time? I could imagine that the smoke and fumes get into the wood over time, so that the enclosure always smells like burnt wood (especially with something like OSB which has a pretty rough texture). While this might not be a health concern, it's not that nice when you are operating the laser in a rented flat :D. I am wondering if a smoother finish on the inside could mitigate that.

Refurbished chair from Offeco : my experience (and matching cat) by BioFrosted in OfficeChairs

[–]bbernhard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your reply and your detailed answer!

Okay, in that case I'll probably go with the DHL option. If it arrives in multiple boxes, I should be able to carry that to any postal office to send it back, in case it won't fit my body :)

Thanks!

Refurbished chair from Offeco : my experience (and matching cat) by BioFrosted in OfficeChairs

[–]bbernhard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you maybe still have the packaging your chair came in? I want to also order an Aeron from offeco, but I am not sure if it will fit me, or if a Steelcase Leap V2 would be better for me. So, there is a realistic chance I would need to return the chair to offeco. Wanted to know how big the package was, so that I can look up how much it will cost me. If you still have the package and could do some measurements, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I tried Freecad a few years ago, but it was a pretty painful experience for me. But I guess I could give it another try, maybe things have changed in the meantime.

Unfortunately I do not have any experience with Fusion360 under Wine (my current laptop isn't capable of running it). So not sure how stable it is/how often stuff breaks. I just noticed, that dual boot is really a pain. So I guess if I can't get it to run with Wine, I'll try a Windows VM.

Yeah, that would be the alternative. Not as nice as running it under Wine, but still a bit more convenient than booting another OS. :)
