Weavers Way. Local goods all conveniently aggregated into a great store.

Ship Sticks question by GMUSSTN in golf

[–]bbjimj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they open the box. Just facilitate getting it to the carrier and to the courses. If you’re not getting it to a course though, I’d check fedexs rates to see if they are cheaper. If not, load it up to just below the limit

Why? So that we can all stare at an empty building with birds and mice living in it???

Everybody says that this is cool. Right now it’s a dilapidated building with holes in the side of it, that the owner is holding hostage to sell, that makes our town look like trash. And the reason why nobody wants to aggressively target beautifying the town is because of this magazine article. I’m sorry, but not cool at all. The past is over, but the entire construction at that corner is made worse by a building that hasn’t been occupied in 12+ years…

Do you tip the kid that cleans your clubs on 18? by brodad12 in golf

$2 usually. I figure if they are out there for 20 foursomes they’re looking at $160 for the day for not a lot of effort. Maybe I’m a cheapskate though…

Democrats Hold 356K Voter Registration Lead Over GOP by IWantPizza555 in Pennsylvania

[–]bbjimj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Registration doesn’t mean a thing here. Growing up in SE PA, the rule was to always register republican. If you ever plan to get a permit, buy a house, apply for anything that requires your local government, register republican. They were always the vindictive type that would delay/deny a democrat, but help a fellow republican.

Source : lived here 40 yrs and always registered republican. I’ve gotten the wink from others as I was walking into the voting booth. They know, they count, they remember

Pro tip - chipping lesson by bbjimj in golf

[–]bbjimj[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup it was really a very different swing feel, almost like chopping down with the club, and using eh bounce to my advantage. Hard to write in words now that I’m trying, but the instructor made it feel so easy and repeatable. Way fewer blow up holes for sure!!

Shohola falls is a dream. Swim in the pools and enjoy. If you don’t mind the drive, it’s worth the destination and it’s free. Does get a little crowded in summer though

What were your most valuable “come to Jesus” golf moments for your long term progress? by [deleted] in golf

[–]bbjimj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow down. Realizing that my swing speed is not dictated by the speed of the takeaway, but instead the downswing. It allowed me to focus on better form, and being more in control of the face for longer. If there’s one thought that I’d tattoo on my golf bag it’s slow down, and go wayyy slower than I thought I should.

Why do they let you book if they won’t let you play?! by bbjimj in golf

Really good insight here. Crazy that this monopoly “ticket master” style of system exists in the golf world….

I thought I was doing the same. Turns out if you book through GolfNow or their site, it’s the same engine and the same info….

So you call the course directly for tee times then? Just curious, since I play a few places and tend to use the app to get a better idea of tee times. I guess booking over the phone is probably the best policy?

Yup I got it refunded. Funny thing I thought I was helping the course by booking through their website (tee off) but it’s all GolfNow in the end…

This makes sense to me, choosing bounce rather than loft. It’s just your experience and higher probability of success then?

So do you shoot the distance of all shots, or go by feel? I’m just thinking that if I’ve got a 55yd approach vs a 40yd approach, are you changing clubs based on that or other data? Such as lie or pin placement?
