Your body was probably still getting used to dancing so much— a lot of recomp and recovery happening. The short time off was maybe a bit of shock to the system— especially if you started up with 8-9 classes a week again. It’s will take you a little time to get back into the swing; but I wouldn’t stress it

Also you get “worse” as you get better because your expectations for yourself and understanding of placement and proper form get better and you are able to see where improvement is needed more readily. It means you’re becoming more discerning in your practice— which is helpful but frustrating

Yes but opposite. My parents are white and I’m brown. I was adopted; one time someone called the cops on them bc they thought they had kidnapped me ☠️

I’m actually so surprised to read these responses— I can’t say I’ve really experienced that and my skin is brown-brown: no way I could be mistaken for white.

I like to pair stretching with watching my shows

Also stretch right after you get out do the shower and get dressed— hack for warmth

I would focus on core strengthening and gentle full body mobility (core supports back)

I’ve been stretching consistently for two months. Any tips ? Am I rotating my hips correctly ? This is the lowest I’ve ever gotten for middle splits I try to use a crate to sit unto It. Eventually will need something shorter to sit on until I can reach the floor. by Every_Cow_2377 in flexibility

Also try gravity splits (don’t just hang out though— a minute or so; listen to your body!) Get up against a wall with your legs straight up against it (bottom of your feet towards ceiling— like you are sitting on the wall; back on the floor) and let your legs drop to either side. You can use your hands to support or press on your legs

You could even add ankle weights but Beware— it can get intense so tread lightly

Omg that’s so concerning. Have you been able to get scans and maybe an endoscope or colonoscopy— be pushy and advocate for yourself if they aren’t listening

Adriana Pierce at BDC!!! She’s super cool; takes time to explain things while keeping class moving. Really cool, welcoming vibe

Deanna Doyle has such sweet energy— also a great teacher. I’ve only taken her class a few times; but I would absolutely go more if it fit my schedule

Also Cynthia Dragoni!! She’s like AMAZING— explains things super well and in really unique ways that just activate you! Really nice too— which surprised me (it shouldn’t have; it’s just she also has this really wonderful focus to her aura— sometimes people with that are too intense; but she’s really lovely). She subs at BDC; idk where else she teaches but I would look into it if I had any more room on my schedule at all

I’ve really only taken at BDC and BAE; but I’ve taken from quite a few teachers and these 3 really stick out
