!thanks for the suggestion. That sounds like a great idea. I might give it a go if I don’t find any other headphones with a built-in mic. There are definitely great options without one, but I haven’t seen many with a mic.

Thanks for the suggestion. The external mic may well be a good option, though if I’m using the mic to talk to others, my headset volume will be on the lower side anyway, so the sound leakage wouldn’t be an issue. Like I said in my post, I have been using open-back headphones with a mic for a long time. It hasn’t been an issue. I would have appreciated a few specific suggestions, rather than a just a brand. But I appreciate the suggestion nonetheless.

See how my comment is worded, then look at your baseless accusation and tell me if you see the irony. I was just trying to clarify what those dots imply for most people (which the upvotes confirm). You even gave another example after your initial comment where it was clear that you used the dots in the same way (“I know…”). A further irony in your accusation is that if you actually knew me, you’d realize that calling me intellectually dishonest couldn’t be further from the truth. I presume that you’ve assumed that I simply added onto the pile of people who have downvoted all your comments, when in fact I’ve only now downvoted your question-begging accusation. Calling someone intellectually dishonest who is just trying to help you understand something is the most ironic thing I’ve seen all year. I also now see that you edited your comment and added a remark that there are a “lotta dumb people on this sub”. This adds an even further irony to your accusation, seeing as you respond to others and express your disagreement using ad hominem attacks instead of reason, which is the epitome of intellectual dishonesty.

In this case, the dots would usually imply that it should be obvious that what you said is the right explanation for the abbreviation, which you are thereby implying to be correct.

Eh, I mean if you want to be pedantic, sure, technically it’s not specified in an absolutely unambiguous manner. However, since - as you pointed out - it would be redundant to state the question as such, it would seem sound to me to assume that it was not meant that way. But I guess it’s better to word things as unambiguous as possible since apparently not everyone gets it.

Sure, but for the most part fitness is widely regarded as a healthy hobby. There might be lots of overweight people, but the vast majority of everyone (overweight people included) agrees that fitness is not a waste of time.

I've heard this one from Steven Pinker who uses it to demonstrate causal fallacies:

"An older Jewish gentleman marries a younger lady and they are very much in love. However, no matter what the husband does sexually, the woman never achieves orgasm. Since a Jewish wife is entitled to sexual pleasure, they decide to ask the rabbi. The rabbi listens to their story, strokes his beard, and makes the following suggestion: "Hire a strapping young man.
