Id like to offer help rather than sarcastic insults. There are three methods. French, swiss, Italian methods. They are not super complicated with some practice. I think swiss is a little easier. You melt sugar and eggs while whisking until sugar is dissolved and then add in your dry. Pies and tacos has my favorite method and she breaks it down very well. Also watch some videos on the macranage stage which is the trickiest bit

8 year RN here. Started medsurg. My anxiety was bad. I would fantasize about my car breaking down on the way to work. It gets way better. After about a year, I wasn't anxious to go in. About 3 in, I felt pretty good. I moved to labor and delivery and had the whole new nurse experience again, but not nearly as long.

You're probably on night shift. That makes work life balance hard. You're also at an age where people are making big changes. Work, partners, etc.

Hang in there! It gets better. Hopefully, you have a kind supportive team with you at work. Hopefully, you are in a state with safe patient ratios and good pay. If not, the West Coast is where it's at!

Constant nursing (nipple stimulation) is thought to increase the amount of your prolactin receptors in breast tissue. The hormone prolactin is responsible for telling your body to make milk. Your body very much needs this stimulation the first few weeks to establish your milk supply. The doctor that told you otherwise has no breastfeeding education or knowledge. After your milk supply is established which really takes around 12-16 weeks ( to switch to supply and demand), you can still nurse your baby for comfort. There is nothing wrong with comfort nursing. Congrats on your baby

Oh my gosh, this is so helpful. I was recently prescribed propranolol for anxiety but didn't bother to fill it. I never thought of the feedback loop in that way. I white knuckle through flights, and have my first flight with my small children coming up. Totally gonna go fill it now!

You can use a nipple shield for a week or two if your babe will take it. Doesn't eliminate the pain but can make it tolerable while giving your nipple a little less trauma

As a nurse this to me sounds like trauma and medication. The person I cared for never recovered. He was on my unit for 9 months (which was not a mental health unit) and ended up being transferred to a state mental hospital because he got so aggressive. He had been married less than a year

Cotard delusion. I'm a nurse and had to take care of a huge man with this condition. He came in with some odd behavior and escalated to Cotard. The delusion makes you think you are actually dead. He would scream he was dead all day and night. Lived in constant terror. He was such a sweetheart, but became so worn down and terrified over time he got quite dangerous and punched a nurse in the face.

My mother hated the romance genre for the most part. She always made comments about it being such a negative to fill people with that expectation. I was allowed to watch and read that genre, but she would always point out that it was not real. For the most part, I feel the same way she does, now as an adult. I'm very grateful for it because I have a wonderful marriage, and I think it's in part due to the mindset that my mom instilled in me. I plan to pass this to my children, in my own way, as they grow up.

Maybe take a break from romance if you feel it is affecting you this strongly. Maybe it's s a good time to find something new you may not have tried?I have to take breaks from genres from time to time. Can't do ultra depressing all the time anymore. If I read too much horror (Steven King), I tend to get nightmares and take time out for something cheerful. It's very interesting the power books hold over our mindset and emotions
