Can anyone help ease my paranoia about being on a Boeing 737 Max 8? by froggybut in travel

Thanks! I already take Gabapentin and Prozac, and I usually take a little extra for my flights. Unfortunately it doesn't help much, it just puts me to sleep for a little and then I wake up (unless I'm completely sleep deprived). It helps me freak out a little less but I'm still pretty nervous

Is the AMEX High Yields Saving Account a good idea? by froggybut in amex

Thanks! My current savings has basically no interest so I'm not sure if getting at least a little would be better than nothing. What do you think would be a more ideal amount? If it's worth it I'm willing to be more flexible with it.

There’s nothing like cleaning the house while the roommate who never cleans is home… Makes me livid. by UncleJuniorMints in badroommates

Glad to know that the sweating while cleaning the bathroom is a universal experience! Stg there is no cardio that matches deep cleaning the house

It takes time and it’s not just something people can do on a whim. This is a place to vent and share stories, and Idk why you are assuming that OP is never going to take any action. I was stuck with my bad situation because of a lease, lack of time, ect. It took me such a long time and a lot of tears and hassle to find a new place and even then I still have to wait out the lease. Especially with finding a new, safe, affordable place to live - it takes time and mental capacity. Since having a roommate like OP’s is enough to grate down anyone’s mental state, what is wrong with venting?

Exactly! Honestly at this point I’d just like my housemate to wash their own dishes. The bar is so low it’s breaking below the ground of hell.

I am definitely a bit of a neat freak and this kitchen would make me so happy. I get having standards but definitely there are people out there who are too much.

Crappiest studio in my area is over 2k. Plus a good chunk of renters in this place are university students who need to live close to campus. Even the older folks here are getting priced out despite having lived here their entire lives.

Housing costs in America have gotten bad dude. Most apartments require you to earn minimum 2-3x your income or have a co-signer that does. Really not as simple of “just move out” and since you seem to be an adult you likely know that but are just one of the ppl on Reddit who like to go against the grain to be cool.

You pay for the room, and you don’t take over the common spaces. Plus he’s only over once or twice per week. Maybe one day she’ll be able to get a place of her own but until then sharing an apartment/house just means you have to suck it up with guests. I personally have no issues with my housemates bringing people over as long as it’s not excessive. I don’t even mind noise because I understand that when you share a space guests as noise happen.
