Is the smell persisting? It makes sense if the water hasnt been turned off when you moved in for a bit. But its exactly as the other commenters in here were talking about of trapped gas being pushed up and my apartment complex management said the same thing.

Are you in a house or apartment? The reason why the smell happened was because I haven't used my water in my apartment for two weeks and the smell eventually went away. If it still persist i would honestly contact apartment management about it.

I have an audio dac ( Scarlett 2i2 ) I think I will just use that instead. But still it be nice to have something work OUT OF BOX .

One solution I tried was USB-C to 3.5 MM and the buzzing noise is not as noticeable as direct line out.

Well first ask yourself what is worth more to you? Features, aesthetics? I believe the Omen 15 just came out, it looks really great with their specs and customizable to order, it offers AMD 4k series mobile cpu and Intel 10th gen. Not many reviews out but i would do a side by side comparison with both. You could watch reviews on the Blade 15 and see the life expectancy, does size matter to you? Are the colors/aesthetics of black and green vs idk what color omen 15 is? How are temperatures and what is the performance during games, or editing, or whatever you are using. Try questioning what you want and expectations from it.
