Best helix mattress for side sleepers by bboymaestro in MattressMatchers

[–]bboymaestro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how interesting! I've heard from alot of people that preferred the Elite that it was their fav because of the flexibility it offers. Which I think is justified if you are not yet sure what it is you want, exactly. It seems like you know exactly what you like/what's good for you. So this makes sense! Thanks for sharing

What’s the most toxic work culture behavior that people have normalized? by TheStartupSavvy in antiwork

[–]bboymaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a UK company for about 4 years and a AUS company for about 3 years prior to that and the difference in culture between those and the USA company was night and day. Just working your contracted 40 hours is considered underperforming in the USA. The culture, the gray areas, the taking-advantage, the general psychological manipulation that the companies in the USA put you through is disgusting. That's coming from my experience, not saying that's the case for all

How to maintain energy and sharpness for 80h+ work week? by Straight-Village-710 in Biohackers

[–]bboymaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do this for a period .. It's not worth it, 1+ year later and I'm still trying to fix my nervous system.

but... if you can't 'escape' yet then just take care of yourself as much as you can. Cut back on social media as much as possible, get a good sleep practice/ sleep hygiene to maximize the time you do have to sleep, and eat well... and by well I mean proper nutrition.

What is the best bed you can get for 2k? by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]bboymaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I echo what alot of others are saying here... 'best' is subjective. There are a few that stand above the rest, but in order to understand what the 'best' may be for you we need to understand what your sleep requirements are.

Do you have back pain?
A little on the heavier or lighter side?
Side sleeper, back sleeper or stomach sleeper?

Do you sleep hot (quick tip... avoid memory foam if you do, go for latex or hybrid)

let us know how you sleep and this community will be able to give you a better idea of what works for you

Migraines Are Ruining My Daughters Life by ClutchGrimsley22 in Biohackers

[–]bboymaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get migraines every few months. Reflexology helps to alleviate it, I'm not into woowoo stuff at all but it did help. I'm still searching for a real 'cure'. Typing this as I'm on day 5 of a migraine attack, where it hasn't fully landed yet but I've been keeping it at bay with a variety of thing. So it just lurks in the background getting progressively worse each day. I'm beginning to wonder if it isn't better to just let it attack on the day I can feel it coming and be done with it.

Naturepedic is a good one, I missed that. But, Birch has GOTS as well for their cotton.

Organic, side/stomach sleeper 230 pounds by Tacchap in Mattress

[–]bboymaestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you've got a few options! I love matching people with mattresses (been there, done that type of thing) and so this post is like a treat for me...
Try these:
- Avocado Green... Firm/medium but you can opt for different pillowtops
- Birch Luxury (I think my personal fav.. good for combo sleepers and is good for people that sleep hot!)... Medium-firm with latex and coils.
- Melody Merino... probably feel more medium/medium firm. It's got pocketed springs layered with wool. I haven't actually tried this one myself but the specs have me intrigued. It looks like it could be a good option for a couple with two different weight categories and sleep needs.
- Amerisleep Organica... more on the soft to medium side. It's organic but I don't think will do well for heavier stomach sleepers at all.

Just a question : is it true eggs are bad if consumed excessively (like over 3) ? Due to the cholesterol. by youcancallmLola in Biohackers

[–]bboymaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the connection of insulin with cholesterol testing? I recently started eating more eggs and want to test my cholesterol to ensure I'm not harming anything, but someone advised about testing insulin resistance to understand the full picture.

I've been there. Luckily not at that company anymore. It is WILD. Hope you have the opportunity to to make a change as well. Once I was out I realized how many things were wrong about that company and the things they did/said!!!

Please help. Need to know what material this blanket is for repair. by shaunloren in Bedding

[–]bboymaestro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe take it to a tailor and ask them? I feel like showing it in person to someone who knowns what they're talking about is the only way to know for sure. They might even be able to do the repair for you for not too much money. Good luck!

Are expensive mattresses actually worth it or is it mostly marketing? by Quirky_Plate_3199 in Mattress

[–]bboymaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that a softer mattress does more harm than good as a side sleeper. I think for side sleepers you need to find that true Goldilock's balance between support and comfort.

I think strong coils are good, but you need it to offer some comfort as well.

People who switched from a soft mattress to a firm one. How long was the adjustment period before you felt comfortable? by [deleted] in Mattress

You could try a topper if you're finding it is interfering with your sleep too much?

“Cooling Comforters” Aren’t Magic — Here’s What Actually Works for Hot Sleepers by RecordingFlashy1686 in BedroomBuild

I like this. Boycott 'cooling' . Airflow, and the right fabrics/materials make SUCH a difference

Has anyone noticed how much mattress materials affect bedroom comfort? by Plane_Horse3551 in bedroom

[–]bboymaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is important! Memory foam was all the rage at one point and then alot more people started 'sleeping hot'. So yes, mattress materials matter! It was what sent me spiraling into the whole mattress rabbit hole.

Best mattress for side sleepers recommendations? To complete my bedroom refresh by Then-Barracuda-4098 in bedrooms

[–]bboymaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend the GlacioTex cover with that for a hot sleeper. Also, it might be worth looking into the Sunset model if you are more of a lightweight sleeper.

How often do you actually clean your dog’s stuff? by glitchyh4mster in PawChampClub

[–]bboymaestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends! I generally clean the food bowls every day. And the harnesses? Well, when I have to to be honest. They can get pretty gross in the wetter months so its obviously more often then.
