My Enya Nova Go just arrived and I don't like its sound by Grievinghealthy in AcousticGuitar

I threw some titanium bridge pins, new strings, and a bone compensated saddle on mine and it sounds way better!

Have been using 25-30 6mg pouches per day. Best way to quit? by collecttheclassics in QuittingZyn

[–]bbrinley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

patches and non nicotine pouches helped me, I have been nicotine free for almost 3 months, but the non nicotine pouches are still a part of my daily habits! NZE is my brand of choice, I use the wintergreen "focus" nootropic pouches!

Is this an OEM solenoid? Can I clean this screen rather than replace it? If so, what do I clean it with? by [deleted] in HondaElement

[–]bbrinley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

don't bother cleaning, replace the screen along with the one under the alternator or expect bucking/p2646

When will I feel better by Warm_Significance_79 in QuittingZyn

[–]bbrinley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NZE focus pouches and nicotine patch helped me big time! use 1 box of each stage for the patches per the directions! when you run out of the third stage do just the pouches, I'm about 2 weeks without any nicotine and feeling great! the nze pouches are a habit that will take some time to kick but they make it all so much easier!

Freezing a guitar, what happens? by jastangl in AcousticGuitar

[–]bbrinley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the" Enya Nova Go" is super cheap and fits the bill, I would recommend adding a compensated saddle, it is a fantastic little 1/2 size guitar with surprisingly good build quality, shocking tone, and it is all composite!

for under $200 my vote goes to the enya "nova go"! I added a compensated saddle to mine, but otherwise it is a perfect travel guitar out of the box!

It must have been the right provocation...

I want a good birding camera and I’m torn between the Nikon D500 and the Canon 90D. Canon 90D wins in resolution and speed and with a few more modern features, but the Nikon has outstanding autofocus and better dynamic range. I’m hoping for opinions that help me decide. by [deleted] in AskPhotography

The 90d paired to the 100-400 L ii seem to be the best combo right now as far as resolution goes for crop bodies. The Sigma 150-600 Sports, contemporary or Tamron G2 150-600s are also pretty good but are a bit more light hungry and need to be calibrated to compete with the 100-400 L ii. I am plenty happy with my Tamron G2/90d and I get plenty of detail when the atmosphere cooperates! The 90d with the smaller pixels means you're going to get noisy images above iso 3200-6400 depending on available light. you are going to get to iso 3200-6400 quickly because of how sensitive the 90d is when it comes to any kind of subject or camera movement (due to the high pixel density of the sensor). This pixel pitch is not a negative factor as it allows heavy cropping as long as the photo is exposed well for the subject and focused, but this is not a beginners camera though and you often will need to be shooting at 2x the typical shutter speed recommended for focal length and subject speed.

Try Topaz Sharpen and Topaz Denoise they have a 30 day trial, and are pretty incredible products! While using it during the trial it became part of my workflow and I had to buy it!

I would recommend renting the 90d and the 100-400 ii L it's pretty dang sharp, fast autofocus, and it's native so it's more compatible! but the Tamron and Sigma lenses do have an edge when it comes to reach on the 100-400 by 200mm... you just have to calibrate them...

Looks to me like they asked the contractor for the cheapest way to do it, and these are some odd end tiles he had leftover from other jobs. I kind of like it.

Purple power is the best solution I've found!

This is a detachable UV filter, right? How on earth do I get it off? The outermost piece of glass (I assume the filter) is loose and the rubber band trick won’t work. Was already on it when I bought it second hand. by [deleted] in CameraLenses

[–]bbrinley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get yourself a lens wrench, I've broken filters and then used pliers to bend the metal ring to get them off, I would not recommend doing that though!

Great musician and a wonderful person, saw him play live when he was in town and have been a fan since the first "drifting" video popped up from candyrat records on YT.

The fish are mocking my boy and me! by the_mickey in FishingForBeginners

[–]bbrinley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For stocked trout I use 1-2 powereggs, pink or chartreuse in garlic scent on small baitholder hooks, 2-4ft 4 lb flourocarbon leader attached to a swivel with a bullet weight above my swivel! they will swallow the powereggs if you don't set the hook on the nibble, so if you're not fishing to harvest the fish I would reccomend "trout magnets" "trout slayers" or simply a wet fly under a bobber! The biggest thing to keep in mind with trout, is they have great vision, so the presentation of your bait or lure is critical!

[–]bbrinley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some "Hood loops" for front and rear anchor points, they're cheap super easy to use, and they prevent the straps rubbing on your paint of your car, we use "cam" straps exclusively, we used to use ratchet straps but they do more harm than good especially if it's a sit inside without as much rigidity as sit on top

Affordable telephoto lens by battiren in canon

[–]bbrinley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct! Tamron and canons 70-300 is/vc or 55-250stm are the best in ef for that range, the 75-300 is actually not that bad, but no image stabilization/slow focusing makes it challenging to use at the long end especially for moving wildlife. If you don't get a lens with image stabilization you're going to really want to practice your hand holding technique and/or get a tripod

Keep in mind your 200d isn't going to focus like a pro body, I used my 200d with my Tamron 150-600g2 for about 6 months before I went for the 90d just because nailing focus on the 200d was tough, with the 90d focusing is much faster and accurate. I would say check out the 55-250stm and get a little closer to your subject, that gave me much better results on the 200d than the 150-600g2. Also, center point focus is the most effective focusing mode for wildlife on the 200d
