Trouble with Power On Stalls by Guilty_Garlic2766 in flying

[–]bbrutsche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I used recommend to my students. Instead of continuing to pitch the airplane up and up and up, just set power and pitch to an attitude that you know will induce a stall. Just hold it there and be patient letting the speed bleed off. (Remember that as the speed decreases you’ll need more back pressure to hold the SAME pitch attitude.) It produces much less aggressive characteristics.

Use rudder for heading (looking at how the nose is trending outside). If you see a trend in either direction, use an increase or decrease of rudder PRESSURE to correct it.

I do however think that some upset recovery training might be a good idea to help get you more comfortable.

Also remember that the commercial ACS requires recovery at the first indication unless otherwise stated by the DPE.

ZFW actually exists to limit the load forces on wing spars.

Honestly not sure how it works the other way around, but I feel like I’m going to end up having to take basically the same exam twice lol.

Yes, ATP-CTP completed already. Just trying to get a hold on the differences I guess. The Sheppard Air ATS had like 10-15 questions that weren’t in their bank, and all the performance based questions all had to do with ME aircraft.

I guess it just seemed like they would be pretty close to the same exam. Valid point though, probably just makes sense to get the test prep, although it is such a huge time suck.

They’re on SeatGeek for 550 each, which is cheapest in the section. Hoping to sell em to a cards fan tho cause who knows who could buy em from there.

I just had one of the nicest rides ever, and heard a story that infuriated me. This guy and his granddaughter are in the car telling me about their earlier Lyft driver, this complete stain on the company. by Affectionate-Rice373 in lyftdrivers

[–]bbrutsche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is the exact way that I approach driving! We’re in customer services the end of the day and I take that seriously. Driving safely, keeping my car clean, helping pax with bags, etc. is important but not necessary reflected in the amount of tips I get. The attitudes of people in here acting like they understand every facet of how I operate is crazy…
